Skyrim: Dawnguard DLC out now on PC, PS3 version not yet ready

Fun Fact: Shivering Isles is at the moment 20 dollars on Amazon.
Bethesda have always made good expansions for reasonable prices, stop pretending they're being greedy because you guys don't remember what an expansion pack is.
You have to use "expansion" pretty loosely to consider Dawnguard an expansion.
I'd say a fluffed up quest line is more appropriate.

a) fuck paying attention to the XBOX version if you don't have the XBOX Skyrim
b) apparently it's logical for 1600 points to represent 20 dollars. Not 16 dollars, not 8 dollars, but 20.
c) whether we're surprised or not, the price is still too much.
Since you've never used an Xbox I'm not going to call you stupid, but the MS Point conversion is so fucked up. Something like this is the norm.
Costs more than what I paid for the game....
5-6 hours of content for $20 is a much better value than you get from tons of retail games. If you factor in net fun gained from using acquired content in the rest of Skyrim or simply replaying as different characters, this isn't a bad deal at all. Am I the only one that totally expected a $20 price point..?
So it's just like the rest of the game?
if you thought skyrim was boring then obviously an RPG isn't your forte.
might i suggest a lobotomy followed by hours of call of duty and battlefield, i'm sure you'll find that preferable.

If we all measured fun by time, Mandela must have had a fucking laugh in prison.

It is however, not enough content for a Bethesda game for that price, I mean look at Shivering isles, 40$ on release, but it was an entire games worth of content, a new landmass, new questlines, sidequests, items, ect. it was massive.

No, I'm pretty sure all the retail games I've bought recently for ~£13 or below (its price on UK steam) have given me >9 hours of singleplayer content.

lol where do you buy your games?
The only thing in it which slightly interests me is the ability to turn into bats as a vampire, and even then it's only because I want to try and fly into people's windows as a bat. I bet there's a mod for that anyway.

Fair point, but we're talking about a recently released big-budget game.

Here, have a metric shitton of good games for under $20 with far longer than 6-8 hours of content
The sad part is even though its vastly overcosted it has smashed the Steam Top Sellers charts. Too much tolerance for bullshit in the gaming industry, with the exception of Mass Effect 3, which is understandable because Bioware slit their own throats with such a poorly executed ending after 2 games and about however many additional hours were spent racing towards the ending in the final game, which seemed only mediocre even with the extended cut.

I for one greatly enjoyed Skyrim despite its faults and I generally enjoy the stuff Beth puts out a lot even though it's not always completely faultless. So far I'm enjoying Dawnguard quite a bit, and while it could be better in some aspects and there are some things that irk me I was quite happy to pay $20 all things considered. I consider it a investment in the hopes that it will help fund future projects that are bigger and better. Of course this is just my opinion and if that makes me "tolerant of bullshit" then so fucking be it. I'm having enough fun to justify my purchase. That's all there really is to it. I'm not saying the price shouldn't be lower, it could have been, I'm arguing that I feel (and perhaps other people feel) like we got our monies worth. That's my 2 cents, or should I say $20.
The worst thing is that a new and unique area is added in this DLC, but it's apparently bland and empty, which is a huge shame and seals the deal that I'm not paying $20 for this.
Skyrim probably had the biggest QA team in history and yet it was riddled with bugs, and now they can't even get it ready for the PS3? They really need to get their shit together, it's just inexcusable
It's worth 20 bucks it's got at least 10-12 hours of content and new weapons etc
20 dollars for a dungeon pack full of vampire mages
yeah those overpowered mages you hated so much in the original game
Bought it, enjoying it, good for me I guess.
Got it, aaaaa bugs everywhere.
Am I a bad man for buying this?

According to facepunch you are.
A friend told me to buy this, but instead I bought more skins for League of Legends.
Same price, except I get to enjoy being a insane robotic demon from the void for a long, long while rather than some vampire hunter for about 2-3 hours

"Everywhere"? I've only seen two so far. One was one of the dwarven schematics duplicated itself at the entrance of the dungeon but since it wasn't classed a quest item it wasn't a problem and when you jump and land with the crossbow equipped your body slightly clips through the weapon.

It's longer than that if you take your time instead of rushing everywhere like an idiot. I'm just saying that as someone who actually owns it, and you don't, I've spent way more than 2-3 hours on it.

Until you get tired of the character and they release a better one.
20$? Fuck you Bethesda, I'd rather wipe my ass with that money than give it to you greedy fucks.
[Edit] I had just come home from the hospital suffering from a concussion when I wrote this in my encephalitic stupor, and people agree with me?

Many Facepunchers are already brain damaged as it is. :v:
I'll probably buy it when it gets more like $10. I've been itching for some more content.
Ahahahaha, yeah Bethesda can blow me, not a chance in hell im paying that much for it.
Bought it because I loved skyrim and wanted more content.
