Elder Scrolls Online Imperial race exclusive to special edition - but won't "bestow unfair advantage
Wouldn't that be even scummier? Claim the Imperials are a special edition exclusive to get people to buy an expensive copy then release said race for purchase anyway?
As someone who's already pre-ordered the imperial edition I would be not the least bit mad, I'd be happy if they reversed the decision and instead gave the imperial edition buyers something cosmetic that doesn't affect gameplay. Like leave the mudcrab pet and maybe add a special set of costume gear or something with no stats.
Todd Howard said something along those lines, though I'm not sure if he was speaking on behalf of Bethesda or just himself.
Considering he's likely lead game designer still I guess it's the same thing as far as the next TES game goes, though.
Agreed, Imperial was always one of the main races to choose from and should be now.
If your going to go about creating pre-order races, why not just create a new one? There are plenty to take from TES Lore.
Because 3 factions 10 races. They would need to either remove one or add two.
reminder that if anyone actually buys this game they have fundamental misunderstandings about the value of money
If they enjoy themselves what's the issue?
No, they're not. They're owned by Zenimax, who also owns Bethesda. Bethesda softworks is publishing the game, but they are not to be confused with Bethesda game studios who are not involved. I believe Bethesda game studios has even said that they will not consider TESO events canon for the next proper TES game.
Well this gives me two hopes. First that we won't stop TES games because of the MMO. And second that the lore won't be raped on a main game.
