Please post when you take one
Oh hey, apparently I did get it. Steam is being weird so I couldn't tell. I took FTL, thanks mate.
Awesome! Wanted to buy FEZ on the last Steam deal but held out because I was hoping it would be Humble Bundle'd, and to my luck here it is!
Paid $5. I feel generous today.
Anyone elses keys not actually giving them anything...?

getting this with multiple keys.
edit:
restarting steam fixes it
I got that earlier when activating a key from a physical copy of M.U.D TV that I bought dirt cheap on ShopTo. Restarting works as you've said.
People have bots that rate-spam, I've seen them. If they can narrow down specific posts and rate them, they can copy the text in the message body. And from there, knowing the format for keys, all they have to do is search it and copy it.
Past that, the coding involves communication with steam's keycode entering interface, which you can already control steam via command line to some extent so its really not that impractical.
Have I seen the bots myself? No, but I've seen the concepts involved, it wouldn't be that difficult.
A bot that rates posts is vastly more simplistic than a bot that searches the entirety of forums for posts that might have something that resembles a keycode.
You're not wrong, it would involve communicating with the key validation server, probably not all-too difficult. The difficult part would be knowing if a key is a Steam valid keycode. Probably a bit easier with the public helpdesk list Valve has on their website.
Then, the next barrier you would have is actually validating the keycodes. Assuming you've gone through all of the previous checks: Searching through forums, Finding a RegEx valid keycode, validating that it's actually a Steam key, you will now have to figure out a way to deal with Valve's security measures they 100% have in place.
For example, you find a key that matches the expression for FTL. Okay, now we have to try and validate it. Okay great, you've just successfully activated a key for FTL. Now what happens in the event that you find another key for FTL? You can't put them in your inventory, you're going to have to put it on a separate account. So the program will have to automatically keep track of possibly hundreds of separate Steam accounts along with a working system of constantly interchanging proxies in order for it to have any sort of viability.
Now let's say we have all of this set up 100%, what kind of keys are you actually going to find on forums that are unused? Humble Bundle keys. Which their value is essentially nothing, especially around the time that the keys are actually getting posted (and have a chance at not being used). It simply wouldn't be worth it allocating time or resources towards maintaining a program like this.
I couldn't even get past the first level of Fez.
Fez was unbelievably boring... and I enjoyed Dear Esther.
its just so.... bland... dull... there's nothing special in it for me at all.

You, sir, just convinced me to buy this bundle.

Somewhat disappointed. Don't know what I expected.
Does Mark of the Ninja come with the DLC? If not, I am giving my code to a friend.
You realize that Phil wasn't the only person who worked on Fez, right?
the other guy is kind of a dick too, though

It doesn't.

I don't want to support this man for the game he designed because he said naughty things online.
