Zelda producer explains why fans came to accept Toon Link

People had a problem with Toon Link?
I never did. I got the game and was like "Oh, cool! Everything looks cartoony! Love the art style and vibrant colors! Glad this one doesn't terrify me!"
I don't see what there is to not like. He's just the same dude, just in a more cartoon style.

And said uncle technically got revived, so.. Not to mention, I still have the faintest thought in the back of my head that Link and Zelda may be related in Ocarina of Time, due to looking eerily similar to eachother (even in the remake) and Link's mother having to flee to the Kokiri Forest amidst the chaos that occurred before Hyrule was unified apparently. But that's just a small theory among the million others. v:v:v
why do people dislike Skyward Sword
i loved that game
Fi mostly. Fi's "hints" went from annoying to insulting REALLY quickly. Plus, I could never get the motion controls to work properly.
I also really don't like what it tried to do with the story by explaining as much as possible while simultaneously shitting all over what Minish Cap set up.

Minish Cap Link also lived with a relative, I think.
i heard skyward sword was pretty great
The motion controls are a bit iffy at the start but when you get used to them it starts to get really fun
(The flying shit is annoying as fuck tho)
Wind Waker is easily one of my favorite game of all time, easily in my top 5. I remember that I thought it looked stupid until I actually played a demo and saw it in motion. To this day I think it's one of the most gorgeous games I have ever played. Also for me, the sailing mechanic just totally consumed my imagination. The exploration felt so wonderful. I spent hours sailing around and listening to the soundtrack when I was younger.
Hey, I feel like Link's Awakening deserves a mention too. While it might not have been as advanced as it was a GB title initially, I find that it definitely had it's own charm. It was definitely one of the tightest in terms of gameplay for GB, up there with Tetris, Super Mario Land 2, and Pokemon.
that too, the oracles games at 1 (they feel like they are one game in two parts imo) and Link's awakening at 2 for me

I assume that you're getting at the school of thought/pre-established canon that Link's cap was inspired by Ezlo the Hatbird (who was originally Minish before getting hit with the sheepstick), which is valid. And since Minish Cap came before Skyward Sword, there's now a conflict between the origin stories, like the Green Tunic and Hat were merely that year's iteration of the Knight's Tunic that was given to the initiates of the Knights of Skyloft.
Or does it go deeper than that? I'm not an expert on Zelda lore, but I can assume by your negative sentiments that there are some other conflicts between the lore of Minish Cap and the lore of Skyward Sword beyond the origin's of the Hero's Clothes.
