Ubisoft reveals first Far Cry 5 art and it's a doozie

I still consider Far Cry 3 to be the best one really, both in characters and setting, though the spin off games that were Instincts and Evolution are still my number 1 favourites.

boo hoo when you open the map screen it's somewhat similar to the map screen of the previous game GAME RUINED
when I buy a game I expect it to be a new game
not a reskinned version of a previous game

Sorry that I find it embarrassing that they were charging triple-A top-dollar prices and couldn't even make an original layout for the map? Couldn't even rotate it? Like wow they changed all the assets and morphed the landscape a bit good job gold star I'm sure nobody'll notice that the layout is the same as the previous main-title game you charged $60 for just like this one.
Y'know, you're right. I hope Red Dead Redemption 2's map is just GTAV's map except with a wild west paintjob, because clearly map design and exploration means nothing and how dare you complain about one of the biggest game-specific assets being reused from the previous game.

FC3 was a fantastic continuation of the series that fixed all of the things I hated about FC2, making it an awesome experience for me, but it really should've ended around the time you [sp]killed Vaas. Hoyt was so much less interesting and tbh Vaas was such a good villain I was more annoyed at Hoyt's existence and had more of a "bitch please" sort of outlook on him instead of a "oh fuck it's him oh fuck" sort of view. Not to mention that tbh the boss battle for Vaas felt cheap and I didn't feel like I'd really had to work to kill him.[/sp]
And then they just copy the style they did for Far Cry 4's cover as opposed to doing something different.
It's supposed to be a reference to The Last Supper, though?
Far Cry 6 will be a sick Blade Runneresque - Cyberpunk game that takes place in Japan and the starter weapon would be the pistol that was in the original RoboCop.
Do you mean Blood Dragon?
Which is right below your post aswell

It absolutely is, which is why I hope the guy who replaces Judas in that painting does actually betray the group.

It is last supper, but it is also same stuff seen in Far Cry 3 and 4 covers; you got the same mad look from the main antagonist with the protagonist being humiliated and in trouble down-left. It's a bit different, but still the same concept.

I already like the setting. Hitman Absolution had the same setting and that was one of the things I liked about it
Assassins Creed set in the US was stale as fuck and boring
Lets hope the same can't be said for FC as well
You had best not be talking about AC3

Actually I recall Absolution being in South Dakota and Chicago, this is in Montana

But that's not how it is at all

Small correction, but the guys in the bottom-left in the FC3 and FC4 box arts aren't the main protagonist. The one in the FC3 box art is from the promotional videos from the game and is a reporter or something that got captured by Vaas, and the one in the FC4 box art is some random Golden Path member.
Could you maybe stop trying to excuse laziness?
I'm not, I do admit I'm kinda playing devils advocate here. Fact is people love to hate ubisoft, and for good reason. But the map controversy is a knee jerk reaction, and almost entirely baseless.
and almost entirely baseless.
How is it 'almost baseless'? You saw the comparison.
[editline]26th May 2017[/editline]
Though, to be fair it has a couple new areas not in Far Cry 4

Because it's just the map screen, and that's about it. The de facto in game world isn't really similar at all. The vegetation is different, the topography is different, the wildlife is different, the skybox is different. Apart from having the rivers flow in the same places it's basically nothing alike, and even that has been changed up somewhat.
The layout is very similar, but that's about it. It's not like the simply copy pasted the map and called it a day, far from it. Granted, It didn't take them a lot of effort, and it's not something one should expect from a full priced release, but It really isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be.
The bottom-right branch of that outline has absolutely no correlation between the maps though.
It is similar though, they just connected some of the lakes.
Of all the things that you could be screeching laziness about, y'all really choose the map screen as your focal point? :v:
Like i'm all for Ubi being lazy but that's the most inane thing ever

It's not the screen. It's the whole map/level layout. They only reskinned it essentially...
C'mon, you can read well enough to see that.
[Cover pictures]
I noticed the evolution of the logo:
Far Cry 1: logo broken
Far Cry 2: logo broken and in flames (
Far Cry 3: logo broken and dirty (from the fire)
Far Cry 4: logo cleaned up but still broken
Far Cry 5: logo completely repaired
Probably not intentional.
Edit: nevermind, the Far Cry 2 logo is only on preview screenshots in flames, not on the cover.

I have NEVER noticed the guy's head with Vaas poster. :v:
Also, if you want to fight about Ubisoft's originality versus laziness, they have simply changed the order of letters in "Rakyat" to get "Kyrat", so there's that :v:
