Origin is actually rather nice. Literally less obtrusive than Steam in nearly every way.
The chat is absolute ass.
The chat is absolute ass.
it feels like i'm in ea's chat support window every time i try to use origin's chat client everything feels so weird and alien.

That's so cool!' We could do something that's like this and that and we get excited about seeing that kind of stuff. So from a developer's side, it definitely pushes us [to do better]. But it pushes us in a - I don't know if other studios feel this way - but I hope in a sort of camaraderie type sense. 'Oh, those guys are doing awesome stuff. Let's jack up our game.' But not like two opposing teams. Rather, like the same team pushing in the same direction," he explained.
rubin is a sick dude and doesn't get the recognition he deserves
Hey everyone lets try beating call of duty by making our game copy it! Or better yet lets make our budgets even bigger and try to target an even casual audience.
Origin is fine. I'd have more complaints about Battlelog if previous Battlefield server browsers were any better. I think it's just part of the game that DICE will never get a grapple on.
Battlelog had a rocky start, but around the time they launched B2K, they fixed 99% of what was wrong with it (IMO). The only server browser I like more than Battlelog is Source's. BL is fast, intuitive, and has a lot of features that I'd love in other games. I love that if the server I want to join is full, I can just queue up from my browser and continue what I was doing until the game is done loading and is ready to play.
The problem with the battlefield franchise is that it's trying to be the CoD killer rather than being what it's always been, a fun multiplayer experience. Anyone remember 1942 and 2? Sure infantry combat sucked ass but that wasn't the point, doing crazy shit like ramming carriers with other carriers or tank sniping or flying prone on the wings of fighters, that was what made Battlefield a good game. I'm glad BF3 made infantry combat far better but then maps became less vehicle centric and more infantry centric which kinda feels like a detachment from Battlefields strong points. I mean come on! How many long dead MMOs (far into the double digits) claimed to be the next WoW killer? None of them succeed for the simple reason that instead of trying something new and trying to do their own thing, they focused on trying to be better than someone else. Star Wars Galaxies was a legendary MMO back in the day, it wasn't perfect but with a little work it could have been the best. When WoW became big what did SOE do? They literally made it EXACTLY LIKE WoW, except with a Star Wars theme and it was fucking terrible on an unimaginable scale.
The way I see it, all they have to do to topple CoD is to allow modding.
lol
