"You will need to sign up to the Rockstar Social Club app to install and activate the game, and the game will periodically check in with the service for verification - but it’s “not an always-on system”." No thanks, not gonna take this shit, not from anyone not from rockstar
I wish I were this much of a badass.
Hopefully a 7850 HD can at least hit high-ish or PS4-like settings
"And after playing it on a truly monstrous PC – an i7 with 16 Gb RAM running dual GeForce 980s, driving a 4K monitor at 60 frames-per-second, I think they’ve got a point." If they only saw it on this monster of a system then they don't know if it is a good port or not yet really.
:/
That's been their stance on Mods since Hot Coffee. They won't take action against madders unless it's gives them advantages in MP. I hope there's an FOV slider for first person, because it's far too low on the console versions. Game looks amazing though, I have a good feeling about this port.
The main problem I see with Rockstar controlling mods is that we'll keep having to fork over microtransactions if we don't like the grind in GTAO, rather than hiding them and allowing the player to do whatever they like via. mods. Some of the best fun I've had in GTA IV has been with the Simple Native Trainer in a private lobby with friends, spawning supercars and automatic weapons in and reaking havoc.
Seriously if it doesn't have the Dying Light system of you can still play online as long as people have the same mods as you then I aint buying it.

I wonder how good this will look across three screens many games have such awful stretching
Any word on how an AMD 6990 would handle it? It's definitely the bottleneck in my computer but I have hope it won't suck too much ass. Benchmarks say it's equal to the GTX770 so it shouldn't be too bad I guess, unless GTA V isn't too great with Crossfire.
There's a FOV slider in first person mode already on last gen IIRC, verifying that now.
There is but the maximum FOV is still really low. Hopefully they'll change the max value on PC since they know how sensitive some can be about it. (including me) :v:

(including me) :v:
I hope they have a numerical value rather than a slider in unreal gold / ut 99 you can have 10 and up to 180 fov I always use 110 fov
I hope they have a numerical value rather than a slider in unreal gold / ut 99 you can have 10 and up to 180 fov I always use 110 fov
10 fov? Sounds strange
10 fov? Sounds strange
imagine looking through a paper roll and trying to fight with it attached to your face that's what 70 fov is like now imagine what 10 fov would be like
imagine looking through a paper roll and trying to fight with it attached to your face that's what 70 fov is like
It really depends on the person, I find 70-80 to be perfect for me, and I can't stand 90+, the image just gets way too warped on the sides of the screen, I have no idea how people can play like that. And this is coming from someone who only plays on a PC, so I'm not used to low FoVs or anything
I'd love 120 FOV, but if I'd settle for 110 at least.
60fps is all fine and dandy, but do we know if there is support for monitors with a higher refresh rate, like 120hz?
GTA 5 and Max payne 3 both support Nvidia 3d vision, so yeah it will support above 60fps
770 can run anything so you'll probably be able to do ultra settings, it's well above the recommended after all
you sure? I have a 4gb 770 but im not sure it'd manage ultra. cpu and ram are up to scratch but thats my oldest component atm.
you sure? I have a 4gb 770 but im not sure it'd manage ultra. cpu and ram are up to scratch but thats my oldest component atm.
I have a 770 2gb and can run almost anything on ultra, Sometimes reducing a few settings that aren't needed like SSAO etc, 60 fps and above this is looking at other games, including MP3
you sure? I have a 4gb 770 but im not sure it'd manage ultra. cpu and ram are up to scratch but thats my oldest component atm.
The 770 is higher than the recommended specs so I'm pretty sure it's more than fine.
Only thing 770 has gave me trouble on is ultra-ing textures on watch dogs despite it saying you only need 4gb i guess thats where my doubt comes from but port-wise this is probably better
Only thing 770 has gave me trouble on is ultra-ing textures on watch dogs despite it saying you only need 4gb i guess thats where my doubt comes from but port-wise this is probably better
to be fair W_D was a dreadful port
A friend of mine very kindly bought me the game on steam, it's going take forever to preload though.
