Does anyone know if an i5-3550 @ 3.3 ghz would be able to use this card without it bottlenecking?
Depends on what rez you're trying to run, but 1080 and up you should be fine... the actual bottleneck is probably your memory's speed, not your cpu, which if not up to par will lead to crappy frametimes.
Well Geforce 960, this has been a fun 3 months but it's time for some real gaming.
Well Geforce 960, this has been a fun 3 months but it's time for some real gaming.
I have a 960 but I definitely want a 1070 or the equivalent AMD card if it is cheaper. Gaming at 1440p with this 960 doesn't work out too well.
neither does 1080p it can't play witcher 3 or dark souls 3 at 60fps 1080p. at least it ran gta 5 fine.
Dark Souls for the most part ran at 60 fps but it did have some occasional dipping. All the more reason to upgrade though :)
I got a factory OC'd 770 back in 2014, it's time to upgrade again and the 1070 sounds real nice for that purpose.
Looking at the performance and price of the 1070, I'm genuinely more curious as to how well the mid-range options perform in comparison to the AMD R9s.
