Smash Bros director apologizes in advance for cut characters

They're probably getting rid of some of the lesser known characters that haven't starred in a game for years, Ness and Captain Falcon are pretty much fucked
The fact that Ganon shows off his sword in his taunts but doesn't use it is a huge blow to the balls

Earthbound is finally being re-released on the VC after more than a decade of Starmen.net campaigning and will get a lot of attention when it does. Captain Falcon is iconic to the series, even more than he is to his own.
I'll be sad if they cut Ike. He was fun to play.
Good thing I main as Link, I got nothing to worry about
I'm worried they'll cut Wario.
But then again he was one of the better characters.

They'd better not. He actually has a personality, a sort of anti-hero who accidentally saves a princess.

I highly doubt they would cut the best Mario character.

thats a funny way of saying "not adding waluigi"
Would be nice to have ganon be an actual character instead of a cpt.falcon clone.
it'd be nice if there were no clones period, it devalues the Smash Bros games so badly. Don't get me wrong, Smash Bros 1 and melee are great titles, but if in 2014 we are still getting clone characters it's gonna look bad, things have changed.
I'd like to see some clones have their movesets revamped. Toon Link has plenty at his disposal with weapons unique to Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks. Clones need to be more than "this guy, but slower and stronger, or faster and weaker". I hope one of the Star Fox characters is taken out, and whoever stays uses Wolf's moveset, because he wasn't technically a clone, since his moveset had quite a few differences.
PREDICTION TIME
0% chance of getting cut:
Bowser, Captain Falcon, Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong, Falco, Fox, Ganondorf, King Dedede, Kirby, Link, Luigi, Mario, Meta Knight, Peach, Pikachu, Pit, Samus, Shiek, Wario, Yoshi, Zelda
VERY VERY VERY LOW chance of getting cut but could happen if Sakurai is drunk:
Ice Climbers (old-school gimmick character, most likely to get fucked over by 3DS version limits)
Jigglypuff (long past her time/popularity but has veteran status)
Lucas (see Ness)
Mr. Game and Watch (if anybody, R.O.B. goes before him but most likely to be dropped before anybody else)
Ness (was going to be cut from Melee, if Sakurai thinks two PSI shotas is too much either of them could go)
IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY will probably get cut before others:
Marth (might overlap Chrom if he's added, but reappearing in Awakening makes him likely to stay)
Pokemon Trainer (3-for-1 character could be gimped by 3DS, only Charizard has super-popularity, already tons of Pokemon reps, has a lot going against him)
R.O.B. (only if necessary, but if someone has to go it'll be him)
Sonic (unlikely with the Sega/Nintendo deal but possible)
Wolf (same boat as R.O.B., a clone of a clone and a somewhat minor character compared to everyone else in Smash)
Zero Suit Samus (add-on to another character, only dropped if necessary to thin the roster)
MIGHT get cut to make room for new characters:
Ike (for Chrom, though they're so different he could easily stay)
Lucario (for Mewtwo or Genesect or anybody else, already too many Pokemon characters)
Olimar (for Alph, but he has more games and more recognition so its unlikely)
MOST LIKELY not to return:
Snake (barely even counts as a Nintendo character, MGS5 not on Wii U, only made it in Brawl because Kojima basically sucked Sakurai's dick verbally, would be nice to keep but unlikely IMHO)
Toon Link (in background of Spirit Tracks stage, semi-redundant Link clone, either he's reworked to be unique and use different items or he's cut to make space for newcomers)
Overall predictions: Toon Link, Snake, Wolf, Pokemon Trainer, Lucario and MAYBE R.O.B. are out
Snake not to return? What are you serious? He's an incredibly solid (if that is a pun I honestly didn't notice it when writing this) character surprisingly enough and really fun to use once you get over his learning curve. Why the hell would they remove him?

And I think Raiden being in PS Allstars and not Snake shows that someone's holding onto him.
This time let's try and keep to one version of Link.
Nooo. If they remove Toon Link I'll be p upset
