I have slow internet so this would probably take me at least a week to download. Jesus christ. Thinking about asking for a refund.
If it's like any other game ever released on steam you'll be able to pre-load at least a week before release so where's the problem
Holy shitdicks. That's a lot of RAM needed. And HDD space. dang.
http://www.rockstargames.com/maxpayne3/news/article/max-payne-3-for-pc-new-screens-and-details-including-system-spec.html That means "not a port"
People won't listen, anything that's multiplatform these days is considered a port and everyone thinks all ports are terrible.
Holy shitdicks. That's a lot of RAM needed. And HDD space. dang.
16 gigs is the max it will take advantage of 2 gigs is minimum
If it's like any other game ever released on steam you'll be able to pre-load at least a week before release so where's the problem
except steam servers stand on their knees when a pre-loading is opened.
HDD Space: 35 GB? What is this madness?
Holy shitdicks. That's a lot of RAM needed. And HDD space. dang.
2 GB RAM isn't really a lot.
Looks like I'll need to upgrade from my 4.5ghz 2600k to a 6 core. And my dual 3GB 580's to 685's.
2gb isn't, but 16 is...
Another thing, HD size doesn't bother me, regardless if I have a lot, but I just wonder if it's bloated or if they really are using good quality textures. RAGE is like 23GB and most people think the texture suck, but RAGE doesn't tile anything from what I recall, it has unique textures for everything, so in a way it's using all that space. But if MP3 is using low compression files everywhere and simply wasteful optimization, then I'll get kind of mad. Since even on my connection 35GB is like still 3-4 hours of downloading. And if I need to reinstall, it's a lot of wasted time. If they really did put a ton of high quality textures and files in the game, then I don't mind as much.
I think people forget that maybe this is an incredibly huge game, just like they have been saying it is. I mean come on, do you think the game is going to last like 8 hours or something? You'd be lucky to get half way by then. Rockstar don't make bad games, so why can't people accept that times change and games get bigger, especially with the level of quality in Rockstar games.
2 GB RAM isn't really a lot.
2GB is minimum though. Not so long ago it was max recommended for other games.
They recommend that SB-E i7, a GTX680/HD7970 and 16GB ram to run the game with maximum settings @ 100fps+, right ? I mean, It doesn't seem this game will consume so much hardware like that just to run at maximum settings with good fps.
Bow down to my 2.5Tb of HDD space!
it will probably have lightly compressed HD cinematics as an attempt to decrease piracy. games have looked more or less the same for the past 5 years, times haven't changed THAT much.
How would this reduce piracy exactly? Do you really think they will all go "Shiiieeet, I really want to play Max Payne 3 for free but I don't want to download 20GB."? Plus, repack release teams haven't gotten anywhere, anyway can resample high resolution cutscenes to be much more reasonable size.
They might as well make ingame cutscenes, not only are they more fitting, they are smaller, A LOT smaller. And yes, a repack will solve the problem. Even losless repacks can reduce file size quite a lot. A lossy one will do it even further. Also the fuss about size is not because of HDD, these are fairly large these days. The problem is with internet speed to download so much.
They might as well make ingame cutscenes, not only are they more fitting, they are smaller, A LOT smaller.
They already do that?
35 gigs? Fuck that, I'll get it on the PS3.

They even said that 100% of the cutscenes are ingame with their dynamic comic strip generation thing making them more cinematic.
They already do that?
Then why is it 35 fucking gigabytes?
Tempted to buy this on xbox
lol its like 100 times more than battlefield 3 and crysis 2 requirements
From what i see, we don't get delayed, console players get the first product like a very late open beta, we get the official version this time.
You guys are so weird, Age Of Conan needs 31gb.
What? Age of Conan looks like fucking shit. How the hell is it 31GB? I don't even remember downloading that much when I tried it for an hour.
Oh cool requirements that range over every video card, cpu, and amount of ram that could possibly be in your computer from the past 6 years that's so useful! I think when they put 35GB, they meant 3-35GB
i think most people are over looking the fact that the 16 GB recommended means they're probably going to give us a 64 bit executable... and if im not mistaken most new games dont have them.
OH god, do i want it on xbox 360 or PC.
OH god, do i want it on xbox 360 or PC.
PC.
I wanted to buy retail anyway, I wonder how many disks it will be on. Soon enough retail pc games will ship on bluray disks, if more games start becoming much bigger. :v:
What the fuck, this'll grow my HDD up my ass. How the fuck can it require that much.
