• Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 PC won't support mods or rental servers

eh, unless they drastically change the gameplay and make it less about SHOOTAN than I don't see CoD really worth it. It's like HL2 deathmatch but with less non-realistic stuff
Click + Drag Control + C Control + V rearrange assets, add some new un-noteworthy things. Send Disc to be printed and shipped Modern Warfare 3
Fixed. Only main thing I can complain about is this awesome concept for CoD isn't on a new engine. Otherwise Black Ops 2 looks great for what it is.
Hello there Punkbuster.
extinction level event right here.
I give them ten minutes before it's broken and people just run their own stuff.
Also In before you can't actually play the game online for three days because the servers exploded. Like fucking always.
What a shame people'll have to stick to BF3 for servers ran by morons.
It's all cool, but how will i know if they have server near me?! Why should i buy it if closest server are Amsterdam and i have ping 60
they're probably doing after every server in black ops became 24/7 Nuketown. The matchmaking isn't P2P and you can now get the proper MP experience. this is the only way league play will work anyways.
I don't understand why people buy an altered product for the same price every year or two; not only with game but also with phones, etc. I mean it's a fun game but what's the point in paying full price for basically the same thing with a few upgrades?
They don't appear to acknowledge they have an actual community. About every self-respecting clan has a home server. Now that they even take away server rental that's not happening. No passworded servers or private matches. Not that I was getting this game anyway, haven't bought a single title in the franchise since MW2, but they seem to be set on destroying as many proven ideas in game design as possible. [editline]2nd October 2012[/editline] It's like they want to turn the game into one big ego-trip. [editline]2nd October 2012[/editline] Which actually opens up another nice question: why isn't there a game with a clan system in which the clan as a whole can unlock perks, obtain achievements by working together? That'd be pretty neat.
I can understand no mod support, but no rental servers? Thats what gives a game's multiplayer a big lifespan.
I can understand no mod support, but no rental servers? Thats what gives a game's multiplayer a big lifespan.
It's pretty clear they don't want their games to have a lifespan past one year.

We have to give Sledgehammer and the Corpse Formally Known As Infinity Ward credit for taking a mediocre game and making it worse and taking two years to do it. [editline]2nd October 2012[/editline]
What a shame people'll have to stick to BF3 for servers ran by morons.
I got banned from 3 Battlefield servers in one day for hitting pre-determined K/D ratios that were apparently too high. I've literally never played a game ever that kicked you for hitting a specific, arbitrary, pre-determined ratio.
It's pretty clear they don't want their games to have a lifespan past one year.
MW1 however still stands rather strong.
As we continually improve and advance our in-house tools for our own content teams we are unable to provide consumer tools due to increased technical requirements, licensing restrictions, and technology dependencies
"And because Activision told us not to"
Yeah, because two anticheating programs running at the same time is definitely going to end well.
They're build to do different tasks. It was explained a little bit by their director of technology. They're not stupid, they won't have it break the game, and it didn't do it last game. The only time an AC messed up was in MW2 (different devs) and it was Valve's fault. Those banned were unbanned and given a free copy of L4D2.
Its as if you pressed control+c and then control+v for that joke.
At least I didn't charge you $60 for it

Simple really.
oh not this crap again
Well, since I'm tired of being burned by $60 AAA games, I might pick this up... on sale. maybe. way out in the future. And even then I may not, I know someone that'll have it, I'll probably just go play it at her house or something.
What's with all the rage? It's still getting dedicated servers.
What's with all the rage? It's still getting dedicated servers.
It's a CoD thread it's supposed to have dumbs. I don't see the big deal. Less 24/7 shit maps and proper skill based matchmaking.
