-posting at 2 am when you're tired isn't a good idea sorry for the stupid post-
The worst thing you can do when you're getting DDOS'ed is acknowledge it. It just lets them know its working and they carry on doing it.
“We are incredibly disappointed by these activities and the impact they are having on all of our ability to enjoy BF3."
Now i can't enjoy getting called a shit player or a noob, Oh the humanity!
Lol xD so funne
i can't think of any logical reason why anyone would do this.
a big bank doing some horrible business practices? yeah i can imagine people ddosing/defacing the website.
a site trying to get people to vote on something controversial? yep.
video games? pretty sure that's a sign that anyone involved suffers from a severe case of dumbass (except the victims obviously).

you're showing some symptoms
Wait a minute, I don't understand what is happening here.
Is this a Battlelog thing? Because i'm pretty sure Battlefield 3 has dedicated servers.
Hang on a tick, is BF3 just like Bad Company 2, where you can't manually enter the IP address of a favorite server to play?

Haven't played it in a while, but if you can, you'd have to do it through the Battlelog, which is probably what's getting DDOS'd.

Revolutionary server browser!

Stop being so edgy, you're scaring the children.
"Activity that appears to be aimed at overwhelming our game servers." Lol, what's wrong with "DDoS?"
First Battlefield 3 must be started from the Internet Browser and now a DDOS attack..?
I'm stumped, because that's just one of the dumbest ideas ever made. What if someone hacks that page, and makes it redirect to malware?

But if they didn't everybody would throw a rage-fit because they're not explaining the downtime.

Yeah it's not like people hurl insults on every game with an online mode right? No one has ever been called shit or a noob or a faggot or any kind of word combined with an expletive on any game other than Battlefield 3.

It's most likely just to let people know so their social networking team can have a break from constant tweets.
DDOSers are some of the biggest scum on the internet
I once saw a charity livestream get DDOS'd shortly after it started
Fucking really?
The worst thing you can do when you're getting DDOS'ed is acknowledge it. It just lets them know its working and they carry on doing it.
To be fair it's hard to understand it's not working, especially when it cuts off most servers' access to the unlock server.

Issue is a lot of servers don't have access to master server or something, which makes your unlocks not unlock and pretty much just resets everyone to square 1 for their stay on the server.
Scratch that, didn't realize BL was having issues too. My bad.

Actually no, not in this case since they have PR to worry about. If the service was going down without explanation there'd be an outcry.

Was that the nerd.nu one? The guy who did it said he found it enjoyable annoying everyone on his reddit account. I wish people like him would just become homeless immediately and start needing the charity they find it funny to disrupt.
-snip- fuck I can't read.
And I'm disappointed you flaked out on mod support for BF3.
Oh really Dice? Well i was "incredibly disappointed" with Battlefield 3 and the huge amount of dlc you make us pay for which should have been in the original game as the 3 or so maps you gave us were not enough.

even though i don't like DLC
i dont really think they just "Held it back". Pretty sure they made it there and then to be honest, considering the vast release dates from eachother.
i love the dlc come at me

Words cannot describe how much of an uninformed whiny baby you are right now. "You're being DDOSed? Should have thought about that before selling POST RELEASE CONTENT :[!!!"

Bullshit tactics used by Dice; make DLC at the same time as game and show it off with several-month breaks in between to make it seem like they didn't just cut it from the original game.
"Activity that appears to be aimed at overwhelming our game servers." Lol, what's wrong with "DDoS?"
I'm sorry did you seriously just ask what's wrong with DDOSing?
Bullshit tactics used by Dice; make DLC at the same time as game and show it off with several-month breaks in between to make it seem like they didn't just cut it from the original game.
I don't like the fact that they planned 4 different DLC packs at the same time and sold it at a pretty high price point.
That's so wrong in my eyes. You do DLC to update a game and make money at the same time, so in my eyes you plan and design what you think would be awesome right now and stuff it into one pack of DLC, not 4.
I'm sorry did you seriously just ask what's wrong with DDOSing?
Pretty sure he means what's wrong with just not saying DDOS.
I'm sorry did you seriously just ask what's wrong with DDOSing?
I think he means as in ''why can't they just outright say they're being DDOS'd?''

Got any proof to back that up, besides "b-but it's ea/dice!!!?"
Devs have a lot of off-time when their game is done, so they work on post-release content or the next game.

It's kinda obvious, along with their terrible excuse for lack of modding tools because "the community would be unable to use them" mmmm, okay more like they don't want people making BETTER maps to distract from overpriced DLC that was announced before the fucking game came out.
