I like how everybody is outraged they can't get a refund. Steam doesn't do refunds either, I don't wan't a refund because the game is good. I bet in a week this shit will be sorted.
but EA offered refunds. people are calling for a class action lawsuit. this blew up in EA's fucking face. incredible.
People will do anything to hate EA.
In response to the launch day trouble Hatam said "If you regrettably feel that we left you down, you can of course request a refund for your order at http://help.origin.com/contact-us , though we are currently still in the process of resolving this issue."
"Request a refund" suddenly translates to "have a refund." You can request a refund from Valve or any online distributor. Doesn't mean they have to follow through.
it wont unlock until the 14th for me this sucks
the need for modding tools or custom regions.
I heard that there is going to be support for modding, but it won't be here for a while.

EA

Refunds

Welp, the biggest miracle of this year already happened.
I never understood what EA never has enough server space. Do they just anticipate that people won't buy their games?
I never understood what EA never has enough server space. Do they just anticipate that people won't buy their games?
It's not like nearly every game that relies on servers has this issue at launch. example: I never understood why Valve never has enough server space to let people download this Meet the Medic update. Do they just anticipate that people won't want to play?
just so you all know, EA never offered refunds. in fact they will ban you if you fight for a refund. http://pastie.org/6408104
Adrian: I am sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused. I can offer you a 15% off coupon from Origin with your next purchase. Adrian: I am sorry, but I can not offer you a refund. you: Why can't you offer me a refund? you: Your product is defective Adrian: Return Policy you: I can call my bank and have the refund done that way. Adrian: I can offer to assist you with any trouble shooting issues. you: Why can Amazon users get refunds but I can't? Adrian: That is understandable, but I must inform you that if you choose to dispute it, your account will be banned. Adrian: I am sorry, but I can not speak on another company's policy. Adrian: Now this just released. you: I am at a loss of words Adrian: So the servers are having issues, with more servers opening up as other countries release then we will show these issues resolving themselves. you: Yes, but it is not capacity demand I am debating Adrian: I can understand this causing frustrations and I do apologize for this. you: Your servers are not the issue you: The game/back end is you: "Game updates" are not an excuse to hide behind Adrian: I am sorry, but I am not able to process a refund. Adrian: Is there anything else that I can assist you with? you: You were offering refunds according to your press release!!!! you: In response to the launch day trouble Hatam said " If you regrettably feel that we left you down, you can of course request a refund for your order at http://help.origin.com/contact-us , though we are currently still in the process of resolving this issue. " you: Why lie?? you: I have done nothing wrong in expecting what is quoted. Adrian: That is correct, that this is where you can request a refund, but as our policy is stating it is also the our discretion to process a refund. you: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/210/9330019.page#top you: Process a refund. Adrian: As I stated before, we are not able to offer a refund. Adrian: Is there anything else that I can assist you with? you: This chat text goes viral. you: Thanks
(not me) is this completely acceptable?

[editline]6th March 2013[/editline] I have a feeling that chat is made up horseshit to convince people of how evil EA is, since ea live support chat ceased to existed months back.
you: I can call my bank and have the refund done that way.
That will get you banned anywhere. Steam included.
On the bright side, throughout today EA updates claim that some of the servers have been "patched." I played on Oceanic 1 after it was patched and surprisingly it was smooth from there. Before I couldn't even start the tutorial. And also, so your regions are only stuck to one server? The same region will not be on US East 1 and US East 2?
Why do I have to keep asking this question: WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE STILL GIVING EA YOUR MONEY?!
it's almost as if they're offering a product that people want to buy!!!! WOW!
I don't understand this boycott EA bullshit. For it to matter at all there would have to be a shitload of people doing it and I mean REALLY doing it, not just saying that they do. You're just one in a million who does it and that don't matter the least. You will always be outnumbered by people, who buy their games and who might even enjoy the games they buy. For now, all who boycott EA are pretty much pissing in each others eyes.
the way i see it. Skidrow is already cracking it to where we have full access online. (we meaning the pirates who hate ea and wish they would die) But also why put drm in a game when you know its going to be cracked in the shortrun.

It was taken down really quickly for being a fake, I assume.
it exists
Where?

Surprised this wasn't posted yet ;D
Surprised this wasn't posted yet ;D
The only things in there that rival Simcity are.. well none. CitiesXL is bug riddled, and you have to restart it every half hour to get any sort of bad performance since it only uses 1 core and is full of memory leaks. They also releases patches as new games, see CXL11, CXL12, CXLPLATINUM. CityLife just kind of sucks and is boring.

(we meaning the pirates who hate ea and wish they would die) But also why put drm in a game when you know its going to be cracked in the shortrun.
yeah, the best way to make ea die is to play their games anyways even after saying you never want to support them or give them any money what the fuck kind of logic is this

ah sorry. didn't realize it was on the client, and not the internet.
yeah, the best way to make ea die is to play their games anyways even after saying you never want to support them or give them any money what the fuck kind of logic is this
Well if you do like he's saying, it's a win-win for players. You get to play a game you enjoy and EA doesn't get any of your money.
