Grand Theft Auto V celebrating Valentine's Day Massacre

you guys have no patience.
Being patient stopped being a thing when Heists were supposed to be part of the base game, which released over four months ago.
they put it in the trailer for online and promised it like a week or two later, I've given up on waiting but seriously one of the reasons why I got a ps3 was gtao so I could do open world payday 2 type shit that would be fun
Most of people's disappointment in GTA Online comes from their own unrealistic expectations of what it was supposed to be.
I'm not really disappointed at all, but then I wasn't expecting some kind of payday mmo singleplayer quality storyline or whatever people were expecting, I was expecting GTA IV freeroam, except improved and with missions and that is literally exactly what I got.
I do, however, agree that they are taking way too long to get content out, and some of the decisions they've been making are not ones that I would make in their position, but come on. That doesn't make the game a huge let down 2/10 would not play worst game 2013 like some people like to make it out to be.
Give me heists, and more frequent or at the very least larger content packs, and then I'd be perfectly happy with what GTA Online is.
It's like GTAIV's freeroam but with a stupid focus on the awful metagame, and joining matches takes you through five pointless fucking menus to do anything just to get into one of a million uncreative deathmatches or races.

its hardily improved GTA IV multiplayer if they throw a ton of useless, inconvenient shit nobody wants and is just a pain in the ass all the time to go through in order to actually have any fun (such as your car being towed, etc.)
I'm guessing at this point they're going for the "we have to make heists really damn good after how long they've waited" approach rather than the "let's ship this stuff out now in hopes to appease fans" approach.
Thing is, there are plenty of idiots who think this makes up for the lack of heists. Yeah, a new car and gun is going to hold people over on a brand new gamemode that they've been waiting for for months.
GTA5 is the reason I'll never preorder a rockstar game ever again

Limited time shit in GTA Online? Yeah, that's just making me want to play it less.
Man, what a regret buying GTA V on launch was. From now on, I'll just wait 6 months and buy it half-price.
Yes, because the SP was useless, awful, and boring right?
i feel like a lot of people are hating on gta v just because it was a big release
was it overhyped? yes. is it a bad game? hell no
Like seriously, if anything, because of this and RDR I'm going to preorder every GTA game in existence from now on. They've literally never disappointed me in any of their games I've played.
Aw, I was really hoping that'd automerge due to the lack of an Edit button on my post.
I found that GTA:O is a disappointment overall, and at the moment it just seems like squandered potential, but it's not like I regret pre-ordering the game, it was a blast to play and it was the most fun I've had with a video game for a while, just because the Online is a flop for now still doesn't change that fact.
you guys have no patience.
I just said I'd rather wait 6 months, how is that not patient??
No way was what I got from GTA V worth the £50 I spent on it. £25 would have been acceptable.

The SP was OK. I'm trying to remember anything amazing from the game and it's all pretty forgettable.

I'll be nervous when GTA VI comes around, too. The single player was fun, but most of the game's life is within the online modes. They promised a very different product than the one we got, but the part that still gets me is that they're a massive company with such a great record of changing the sandbox genre. I love GTA V, but they really messed up with Online.

then your standards are way too high

Eh, I was A-OK with the online part of the game being a broken pile of ass. I never touched it and I never will. I have 0 interest in playing online. If it were up to me GTA: Online wouldn't have even existed. I would have kept the game single player....maaaaybe co-op, letting other players join in as one of the other two protagonists to do the storyline and screw around in free roam.
Of course I also would have launched the game on PC and PS4 alongside the last-gen consoles. lol
GTAIV's story and its multiplayer are both better than GTAV's IMO. I was hella hyped for Online when it was announced but that turned out to be a fucking mess so I ditched it while the game still had a good trade-in value. It's a shame that this turned out to be such a boner.
Final comment before I get dumbed into oblivion because w/e:
When I played GTA IV MP with my friends it was because we wanted to blow off some steam and mess around. When the PC version released and mods came along we bought the game again because holy shit, so much just opened up to us. Super sonic flying with auto-rpgs in the air above Central Park, brilliant.
GTA Online goes completely against that. When I play GTA I play it because I want to let loose. I don't want to be told "No, you're not high enough level for that". This isn't an MMO, it doesn't needed gated content.
Then the updates that kept nerfing mission rewards, so it took even longer to level up. The only redeeming factor of Online was when you could glitch your money and level up, unlock all the fun stuff and go crazy. I don't give a shit about managing the utility bills of my apartment, fuck no I'm not going to pay some pubbies' car insurance. R* attitude towards Online was abysmal, they tried to make sure people were having fun their way or not at all. Rather than focusing on content that had been promised form the start, or even fixing the proper bugs that prevented play rather than exploits.
i don't see how any of that makes gta v not worth the price of a full game? yeah i get it, the mp isn't as good, but the single player offers a lot more than iv's ever did
It's a fuckin joke that they haven't released heists at this point.
They said they were going to do it, and they haven't.
How the hell can one single gamemode that so many people want be so hard to make? There is literally no excuse.
I don't know why they're wasting time with CTF and other dumb shit. Make your own races? Who gives a fuck? Make your own missions and heists is what I want, in addition to their heists.

Maybe try some reading comprehension then x)

It's a business. They want impatient people to buy GTA money for real money, simple as that.
It's too bad they're greedy, because they've already made a fucking record breaking killing just on game sales alone.
Maybe try some reading comprehension then x)
reading comprehension has nothing to do with it

I'm going to give Rockstar the most generous benefit of the doubt and say that this entire microtransaction thing was just a ruse so that they could provide us with free content packs like the Beach Bum pack, and this one.
IIRC, Microsoft only allows one piece of free DLC for each title. Here, they can prove a separate source of income for the game so that they can provide DLC free.
This is also probably not true.

I don't think they've even turned on microtransactions yet. I really have no idea what they're trying to do.
you can make the exact same comparison with iv
here let me sum it up
hey uhm im not a criminal anymore
ok i guess im a criminal again
darn its been like 50 missions and im still a criminal
ok at least i can be a rich criminal
yay i got money [sp]by robbing a bank[/sp], but nothing to spend it on unless- nevermind there really isn't anything to spend it on
also hi i'm roman, i'm the most annoying cousin you could have but lets go bowling anyway
[editline]13th February 2014[/editline]
i like both games, and i think iv had better writing, but if you're gonna complain about something in v then don't complain about the money because that's one of the things they actually did right
Kinda fucked up they're making light of a nasty murder like that. In like 20 years, will Rockstar start making jokes about Ted Bundy screwing bodies of women he'd killed?
Anyone who would've been offended by it is most likely dead
you guys have no patience.
It's not really about patience. There's just nothing to fucking do in GTA: Online. There's fuck all in the free roam apart from robbing gas stations and stealing money from armored trucks.
Uhh roman was the most lovable homeless failing taxi company owner in any video game
You missed the point in my comparison, the entire game is chasing money you never get until the end, and even then it isnt enough unless you did it right.
They did do good making more things to spend money on, though. That never bothered me in gta4 strangly, though.
well, one problem i had with iv is that while it does have a huge replayability factor, it's only because it's a really good game. however, there's not a lot of choices you can make (kill this guy or kill this other guy), and there's also not a lot of stuff you can do after you finish the game.
with v, however, there's a lot you can do differently. you can spend your money more wisely, you can meet people in the strangers and freaks missions with different characters, and you can, of course, make different choices for the heists you do as well as for some story missions. los santos also feels a lot more alive than LC
I hardly call it being impatient for features we were promised on release
Remember the character's mouth supposed to be in sync with your voice? Lol when's the last time we've heard of that feature?
Is the skill degradation crap still in effect for people who haven't played Online in a while?
Because I haven't played in two months and I'll be more than a little annoyed if my skills have bottomed out because I had other things I wanted to do.
