A Total War game or Mount and Blade.
Garrys Mod. I think it showcases gameplay that is familiar whilst both highlighting the fact that on PC the sheer ability to have the tools to create something like this from another game helps demonstrate just how flexible and open source PC gaming can be.
I don't think you'd want a new person to play a competitive shooter like CS:GO first, since that requires a lot of precision, paced shots, learning to balance money, and probably getting vote kicked for not doing the objective correctly
CS:GO competitive mode is actually the best mode to play if you want it to be fair. After your first 10 wins and it figures out what your skill level is, you usually play with people who are the same skill level as you and it lets you learn at your own pace. The better you get, the higher the rank you obtain. With all that said, minesweeper :v:
If I wanted introduce someone specifically to PC gaming, I'd choose a game that can do things that can only be done on PC; Something that's moddable, I guess, since modding is pretty much a PC thing.
Artificial academy 2
That or Schoolmate 2 :v: Honestly it would depend on the person's tastes. For example I have a friend whos a huge horror fan, so I introduced him to stuff like Amnesia, Five Nights at Freddys and I'll probably show him Nazi Zombie Army next. He's primarily a console gamer with a Mac so I usually show him stuff at my place. But as for general PC games, Oddworld New & Tasty, Half-Life, Melty Blood & Valkyria Chronicles would be in my opinion good introductory games. The last two might not sit well with people who aren't into anime, but the gameplay is fantastic.
