Two games that should've basically been launch titles. Well, let's hope this boosts Wii U sales a bit.
Yoshi's New Island looks awful

Whats so awful? Just curious, ive never played that series.

No it doesn't. The art style is just like how it was in the first one. Gameplaywise I would say it will come close to the first ones.

errr no it's not. It's more similar to the style Yoshi's Island 1 was supposed to be. (and it looked awful back then too, look at the Yoshi's Island intro for an idea of what it was supposed to look like.)
The background graphics look like the style that ended up being used in Yoshi's Island. But the foreground stuff looks more like Yoshi Story. It doesn't look very good though. Then again, who knows what the actual game will look like on the 3DS' screen.

I wouldn't say it looks awful, it just looks as incredibly bland as the NSMB games look.
Which is a shame, since the original Yoshi's Island is one of my favorite games ever and none of the sequels have lived up to it.
WHERE'S THE NEXT F-ZERO NINTENDO?
Can't get worse than Yoshi Island DS
It can when it's made by the same people in a different studio.

Bland music that was mostly variations on the same song, and boring levels with a baby switching mechanic that just added tedious backtracking.
It looks more like Yoshi's Story.
I loved Yoshi's Story just as much as Yoshi's Island so you can all go suck it, I think it looks good

I thought automerge broke after 3 hours, not 2

They have Takashi Tezuka and part of EAD helping with the game, so don't worry too much about it being as bad.
Please let Mario Kart 8 be better than the train wreck it was on the Wii. Even though people regard it as a great game it lacks much compared to previous Mario Kart games.
The whole Wii theme made everything look dull as fuck, characters did not have unique items (making your choice of character pointless) and the game struggles to keep a decent frame rate in 4 player mode.
The new trailer of MK8 looks pretty polished though and i'm looking forward to the reviews!

Well it looks horrid visually, so that's like a third of the formula missing already. And my faith in Nintendo is already at an all-time low as it is.

Characters have never had unique items other than Double Dash and Super Mario Kart (which doesn't count because those items were only available to CPUs) 4 Player splitscreen is also pretty hard to do nowadays (most games on PS360 don't even have it anymore) and even back then Mario Kart 64 could only do 4 Player Splitscreen by disabling a lot of stuff.
then again, I didn't actually play much of MKWii so I don't know how good/bad it was. I played Mario Kart 7 though and I enjoyed that for a while, so if you want a rough idea of what MK8 will be like, it seems to have concepts from both MKWii (the bikes) and MK7 (the coins for top speed acceleration, and I'm not sure if customizable karts are back. the coins in MK7 were used for unlocking parts in MK7, though.) They didn't really add any new items into MK7 either (just Lucky 7 and it came at the loss of the fake item block) so who knows what new items they'll have for this one. I do know that 2 items from MKWii weren't in 7, though.

most people didn't take too kindly to ALBW's aesthetics either but that ended up being a pretty good game. although i'm not much of a yoshi fan so i don't really know what to expect from this.
