That's funny microsoft considering your milking the shit out of Halo.
They actually addressed that, sorta.
He said the series "did kind of run its course on 360," and that its story doesn't support as many games as the Halo series.
Just without the word 'milk' involved. :v:
The campaign was atrocious, the dialogues got worse. The action was nonstop without any atmospheric moments. The level design was so bad and heavily restricted. The glowing locusts are lame enemies. Overall there was not a single good thing about it. GoW 1 was atmospheric and dark, it had cool locations and tough fights. The missions were pretty neat, especially the one with the Kyrill. It just had better dialogues and a good atmosphere. You were constantly alone surrounded by creepy enemies and monsters. Making it feel like a hopeless fight. It was really enjoyable. GoW 2 added a nice touch by adding a lot more military warfare, this huge operation felt really refreshing instead of the lone squad thing of GoW1. The missions were great aswell and the story was decent enough. It was really great fun, the new horde mode was also great. There was enough variation in everything and they made the grahpics look more colorful. Gears of War doesn't have a good story and amazing dialogue but I think that Gears 1 and 2 had pretty cool dialogues and a nice setting until they butchered everything in the sequels. They act to much like tough guys and the overthetop action isn't really helping much. I thought that Gears 1 and 2 always had a good mixture of both without overdoing it.
Pretty much this. And god that MP, I sunk so many hours into MP in the first Gears, Gears 2's MP was pretty slick too when it actually worked.

The only thing I really liked about GoW3 was that the feral locust had some really awesome designs (but lets be honest, the locust have amazing designs by default), and the charging with the retro lancer was fun as fuck.
holy shit what
lancer chainsaws made of lambent orphan teeth
maybe if they didn't fuck up the ending like they did in GoW 3, they'd would have been able to continue the plot. but no [sp]magical device shoots out big energy field that kill all the bad guys and happy ending :)))[/sp]
actually, fuck you for taking a fantastic series and then making it console exclusive so every game can totally die or "run it's course" after a couple years. I mean fuck there's still some slight activity for the original Gear's modding community on the PC, there wasn't any reason to stop having it on the PC when 2 came out. Gears 3 was a fantastic game with some of the best MP that I've ever played. It deserved way more than to be left to dry out in the console graveyard along with Call of Duty. [editline]2nd November 2013[/editline] Just look at Call of Duty 4, on the PC it still has thousands of players. Compare that to literally 2 people you might find in a Free For All match on the console. Imagine what the community could have done with Gears with the modding support that the first one had. This is why consoles are terrible. [editline]2nd November 2013[/editline] Also Microsoft cut my account for no reason when I was trying to reach #1 in the GoW Judgement Leaderboards. I got cut when I was at #2, so triple fuck you to Microshit.
The only grudge I hold against the series is that they feel the need to [sp]kill off the majority of the cast.[/sp]
The only grudge I hold against the series is that they feel the need to [sp]kill off the majority of the cast.[/sp]
Considering how grim the series was from day one, I was expecting it.
The thing about passing it off to a new team like he's suggesting is it could either revitalize the franchise or ruin it entirely.
So actual logic on how to make a game franchise more appealing other than milking a franchise to death from a Microsoft high ranking Employee? i can't believe my ears
only reason gears was successful in the first place was its multiplayer without it it would've have died down fast
GoW 1 is fantastic with a drawback being the over hyped but shit tier boss fights. That whole second chapter when night time happens and those fucking razor bats or whatever come out and you are only safe in light and you do all this cool shit with them was hot. And then your in the car. Also that fucking sun gun, jesus christ that was amazing. GoW 2 impressed me a fair amount as well and is still a fantastic game, but I always wonder why GoW 1 isnt talked about or praised more, its insanely well done TPS with amazing co-op and high skill and fun multiplayer.
I loved the shit out of the first game and I was blown away by the first time I saw a trailer for it because it was unlike anything I had ever seen before. I always wanted to play the second one because they released a tech demo that showed a lot of new technologies that I still haven't seen anywhere
The first ones graphics were amazing for when it was first released. Hell, it still looks extremely good 6 years later.
And it was also a nice, refreshing change because that was before it was all "EVERYTHING MUST BE DULL SHADES OF BROWN AND GRAY WITH BLOOM"
