Oh God yes.
Hope the multiplayer is still populated.
It never really was because of how Vice only allows approved servers to show on the list. I hope that will change now that it's on steam.
Also I'd like to revive my past proposal that all FP players add [FP] to the beginning of their name so we can have delicious territory control.
I can't wrap my mind around this game, just like I couldn't wrap my mind around X3.
Space sims really should take a hint from Freelancer.
X3 isn't that bad. It's fan-fucking-tastic once you learn to navigate the Menus. And the only menu you really need is on the button R. You can hit R, pull up the command menu of anything you own and give it orders right there. The best thing about the X series is the galaxy is extremely populated and feels like it's full of life. It's like a Singleplayer EvE online

They aren't really comparable games except for both taking place in space with an emphasis on economy. In EVE you "fly" by clicking on stuff, and it's much more of an RPG. X-Universe games has you actual pilot the ships with the mouse or joystick, and is faster paced than EVE.

That is not saying alot considering a 90 year old woman on a zimmerframe is faster than EVE.
X3 really needs a 2d cousin. That game would be perfect if it was entirely 2d.
Don't get me wrong, I love X3, but once my empire gets rather large, the game starts to make my brain hurt. The AI also isn't so hot at calculating combat outside of your sector. With the third dimension removed, it becomes possible to actually calculate the fight as though you were in the sector. Making stations becomes easier as does a whole lot of other day to day interacting.
Though I wouldn't want it to replace X3.
Downloading the demo to play tomorrow, hope it's a good game. I loved freelancer and this looks like it. Does it have mod support?

In some ways, yes.
