I don't get why it's PS3 exclusive if DUST is going to be integrated with the EVE world, a PC EXCLUSIVE

Jesus dicking christ. People, bitch some more, because DUST was supposed to be a console-exclusive from the very fucking beginning.
Oughta be interesting to see how the worlds affect one another.
Also oughta be interesting to finally make some money. If I can make ISK playing DUST, that would totally change the way I play EVE.

I don't play EVE but all my lan buddies do and they all have their own company so it'd be fun to be a foot soldier for them :v:
Dust is PS3 exclusive because Microsoft connects in-game profiles to Xbox-Live profiles. The creators of Dust say that they want the player to be anonymous when they play(anonymity is a big part of political tactics in Eve) and since Microsoft won't let them do that, they're not putting it on the 360.
Knowing that the DUST economy is directly tied to the Eve economy, we can determine that goods/services purchasable in DUST will be just as expensive as stuff in Eve - CCP's economists will avoid market inflation at all costs. They're going to want mercenaries to be sold to the highest bidder, and for that to be effective, prices must be high to keep a DUST corp from getting egregiously rich from a 100,000,000 ISK donation. Speaking of currency, imagine the FPS equivalent of an Ibis...and what on earth could cost a DUST player 300,000,000 ISK?
I wasn't excited about DUST until this tidbit of information. I really hope they don't water down the economy thing.

It's EVE, man. The economy will be so mindbogglingly complicated that the only people who truly understand it are physically wired into the game itself.
I still don't understand why this won't be on PC. EVE and DUST are for completely different players.
if you have dust corps going around with invincible space barges attacking planets i will be pretty pissed.

Don't they have to be transported by EVE ships, though? You could just blow up the transports.
So DUST is the "on land" part of EVE? I really don't understand why it couldn't be on pc too.

It's obviously so EVE players can concentrate on that and DUST players can concentrate on that so you're not splitting your current users in half.

Do you not understand the differences between a lot of ships in Eve?

They could be transported around on a mobile death machine.

I don't see how this would split users seeing as eve and dust are two totally different games. I don't like eve but I'd play some fps dust.

having a multiplatform FPS doesn't work because mouse and k/b pretty much always dominate the console users
CCP wants to expand their player base. If PC players are constantly dominating the PS3 players, they'll be in trouble. That said, I wonder if a significant number of Eve players will buy DUST and jury rig keyboards and mice to their PS3 :v:

I play EVE, but I plan on playing this instead, it will finally give my PS3 some real use. (Other than a media player)
