"Since we already have your money, it's safe to say sorry for ripping you off. Good day to you."
Sega should consider cutting down on publishing things from third-party developers and just focus on localizing their own content again. I mean, pretty much EVERYTHING Sega has published in the west this year so far has been complete shit made by other developers, with the only thing in their western catalog for this year so far that's looking decent being Total War Rome 2 and Company of Heroes 2. I mean, come on Sega, quit publishing all this generic crap like ACM in the west and start localizing all your good content again, it would do quite a lot for the company's reputation and be a breath of fresh air for the western gaming market. And besides, Colonial Marines was a massive money-sink anyway, and Gearbox pretty much swindled most of the funding for ACM into Borderlands instead. Welp Gearbox's credibility is fucking gone. Not like was much there anyway, Pitchford is a douche.
As a result, the company agreed to add a new disclaimer on the Web site and YouTube videos explaining that the trailers are from demo versions.
Uh no. It should say, "Not Actual Gameplay."

They knew what they ended up with 6 months before the game went gold and still ordered a review embargo and had the balls to charge over a hundred US for the collectors edition and 30 bucks for season pass on top of that. Sorry but SEGA isn't some poor fawn left out in LA rush hour traffic to die. They are just as guilty as TimeGate and GearBox. The only people whom are heroes here are the people who warned others on the GBX forums and the contract and for-hire workers from places like PolyCount who put their asses on the line for shit they can't even put on their resume anymore. FOX signed off on a completely shit story, SEGA knew what they had and released it anyway and let NO ONE who reviewed it say anything about it, and the other two devs obviously had no fucks to give in regards of care of the franchise. Fuck em all, right in the ass, including the publisher.

Sega was under the impression that the budget money was going to Aliens: Colonial Marines and that Gearbox didn't outsource. Randy Dickhead shafted them.

Better to release Gearbox's shit and at least try to get back their losses from Gearbox's swindling. Do you really think anyone would be so stupid as to just drop something suddenly after millions had been poured into it? That would have been a massive loss that noone could call acceptable. Unfortunately, the gaming industry doesn't run on romantics, shit like this is bound to happen. But let's be honest though. ACM shouldn't have been funded in the first place considering Gearbox was never the greatest developer, and Sega should have been a bit more pressing when Gearbox wanted so many delays. This whole situation has been a loss for everyone involved. Sega's reputation has been hurt again by a crap developer, Gearbox has pretty much stripped itself of a fanbase in one fell swoop, and we all got a shit game. Which is why I say Sega needs to stop publishing third-party games and go back to localizing their own content from Japan. Their own development studios make much better and innovative content than most of the third-party content they publish, especially as Colonial Marines and supposedly Anarchy Reigns have shown to be crap.

They had a QC on the ground making checks, and the blogger you're pulling that information from has been caught lying his ass off in SEGA's defense before. I'm telling you from DIRECT EXPERIENCE, SEGA absolutely knew what they were getting 6 months before cert. period. SEGA literally been running on Sonic mobile sales and CA rts games for quite a while now. They're literally about 10 yers behind the curve in terms of game content and platform offering. They need to a complete overhaul of their content and business model, and they're too big to get that to happen easily.

Direct experience? Care to give your credentials?

What I know from is research based on what's been going on since release as well as the SH subforum here on FP.
I'm telling you from DIRECT EXPERIENCE, SEGA absolutely knew what they were getting 6 months before cert. period.
Direct experience? Yeah, sure you are, bud. Prove it.
With the fake shit they showed at E3 they probably showed the Sega representatives the same (or more) doctored footage.
Again, wrong. The PAX demo was actually playable and running on a single PC. Do some research before spouting knee jerk bs.

Sonic Mobile and Creative Assembly's Total War series is just their western catalog.
Again, wrong. The PAX demo was actually playable and running on a single PC. Do some research before spouting knee jerk bs.
And yet that's what you're doing. You're going completely against any and all news that's been going around and not providing evidence.
1. What blogger? He hasn't cited any sources at all in this thread. 2. Direct experience? Care to give your credentials?
http://www.destructoid.com/anonymous-whistle-blower-claims-gearbox-stole-from-sega-246558.phtml The "sega awakens" blog, which was where FP got the information from. I'm not terribly concerned whether you believe me or not, it's factual and has nothing to do with FP.
And yet that's what you're doing. You're going completely against any and all news that's been going around and not providing evidence.
OPEN YOUR EYES THE TRUTH IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU
And yet that's what you're doing. You're going completely against any and all news that's been going around and not providing evidence.
Probably because a rather simple google search or actually watching the "bullshit/doctored" demo in its entirety shows the person actually changing things in game, on screen. The randy pitchford narrated video and the teaser demo are separate, and neither of them is "doctored", they're simply completely incapable of running on anything other than a high end PC.
polishing
Probably, but that still doesn't absolve SEGA of review abolishing, and it doesn't resolve SEGA of anything after launch either. They aren't innocent in the slightest, and they still had the balls to craft ads with the Demo version after it was clear there was no way in hell or earth it was going to run on either console. The final TV ad and the "tactical gameplay" ad both use the demo build, which will never see the light of day.

Otherwise shut the fuck up. I'm not going to take time to research YOUR POINT OF VIEW if you can't be assed to do it yourself.

If you have to sell the shit pie to make back your investment and stay in business you sell the shit pie, your customers will hate you, but you stay open another day and you can always blame the Chief
Again, wrong. The PAX demo was actually playable and running on a single PC.
i was at pax east and saw the demo live. there was no computer to be seen. just a mic and a giant screen showing the singleplayer with the ESRB shit at the beginning. The only playable part there was the multiplayer. The Multiplayer even bugged out on me while i was there.

Also you should be the one shutting the fuck up, since you can't seem to measure up to your own standards, all you've said is "this thread on FP said blah blah" which means jack shit compared to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7xFSYsy0rk 2:13 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmZcvSkXifA 0:53 So again, your claim SEGA was somehow ignorant of cert is bullshit, the publisher has to ship the cert build to consoles, not the dev, if you actually knew anything about the process, you'd know this. Your claim of "doctored" whatever is also false, as both videos show user input. It's an entirely playable version containing MP and SP builds, and was used at three events with hands on playing being filmed by third parties, all of which is factual. SEGA knew exactly what they had, and they literally forced journalists to keep quiet about it until after launch. period.
