MLP Fighting is Magic pulled from Evo 2013 headliner draw - Sensationalist Headlines

I really don't understand the hate towards Bronies. Sure, there is the occasional one who tries to shove their fandom down your throat, but for the most part any Brony I encounter are decent people, some are even close friends. As for the show I can understand why it's popular to an adult audience. The several times I watched it with younger family it was amusing, it reminded me of the shows I watched when I was their age, and you don't get that these days. The writers are responsible for some of my favorite cartoons growing up, and the voice actors have done some great work in both the cartoon and gaming industry. At least they have the balls to come out and admit they are into something like this.

It's the vocal brony members that do the stupid shit that shine a bad light on the rest of the fandom IMO.

On topic to the news here: I'm really glad that EVO pulled MLP from the draw. I'd really lke to see a more enjoyable fighter get the spotlight, seeing as MLP will probably be at EVO anyway, for better or worse. I guess Super Smash Bros. Melee will be the last spotlight game then. It seems very likely. On another note, I saw Soul Calibur V in that list. Does anyone still play that? I fucking love that game.

(also, kudos on actually giving it a chance.)[/QUOTE] Well, for starters, Lauren Faust, Hasbro and everyone else involved were at least surprised to actually see male fans enjoying the series, from ages 13 to 35 to boot, and I don't think guys usually like ponies and things full of friendship and love and so on. And in comparison with other shows, you got Young Justice, a show about teen super-heroes and their mentors beating the shit out of villains and vice-versa, villains with dark plots, while in MLP, the only "villain" I remember was one of the characters that wanted revenge on the princess and then was defeated and turned good, all in a friendly way (think it was the first episode), with no actual ass-kicking, which most kids love. Adventure time and Regular show both have the ludicrous stories which in my opinion, don't even appeal to girls, while sometimes also having a "hidden" mature message, which does speak about love and friendship, but it doesn't get to pinked out plot. Always made as a show about guys being guys or 2 best friends beating monsters and finding out about girls through wacky adventures that might be scary as hell after smoking pot. MLP, as said, is all about love and friendship, and even gives a conclusion of "a lesson learned" in the end. Gumball falls in the same category of those 2, and Ben 10 is somewhat the same as Young Justice, regarding the fact that there are a bunch of heroes with special powers who fight aliens and stuff. If I have to be honest, MLP isn't that bad, but imo, also isn't geared towards male audience. That, I find only weird, maybe a bit unsettling and annoying at most... What really is sort of fucked up is how the fanbase crosses it with everything else. That really does piss in my cup of coffee.
