I honestly can only defend the european people who are getting gipped by having to pay twice as much as their fucking neighbors do. The US shit though isnt that bad. 60 dollars for a game you get your moneys worth is good. The dlc, I don't know why you guys are complaining about it. It looks way better than what they've done before. With the detail they put in it, it's not like you're just getting a skinpack, they're complete major factions. Oh no things included to motivate preorders.
$45 on GreenManGaming with their 25% off code so it is very cheap.
For some reason it's okay in the gaming market to charge stupidly high prices for games, and I dont know why people allow it.
cause idiots are still gonna buy it and go all "eh whatever" when it infact makes things worse
dont blame the developers or publishers, blame the mongloids who think its fine for them to just up prices all the time

I don't see how I'm stupid for not caring if I have to pay 60 dollars for something like this. I own every TW game and have hundreds of hours on each. They are all super detailed and have a shitton of effort put into them and deserve to have that pricetag, unlike six hour shooters.

Oh no free dlc with a preorder.
Im gonna cry while staring at my copy of battlefield 3 with karkand free with preorder.
I thought that Star Trek game costing £39.99 was over the top, £45 wtf.
You guys in the UK and US whine too much. That price is standard here in Sweden for PC games. $60 for a brand new PC game is really cheap here.
I don't care if you're a big fan of the series or not, it's still paying £45 for a fucking PC game.
(for comparison, PC games are normally £30)
If you all pay £45 for it on Steam, you'll just encourage more higher prices for video games in the future.
That fucks over the poor people who can't afford £45 for every freaking game they buy.
Instead, buy it from somewhere that is selling it for £30.

as a swede ill agree, its usually about 349-449kr then but if i want it on steam instantly? 55€ give me a fucking break
this gabagool shit, get the fuck outta here. che puzzo.

You'll get it instantly on Steam if you get it from GMG or something for 290kr instead as well? Difference is that you don't have an item in your steam list that does nothing until release.
Some of you people are truly pathetic, it's 5 more and you complain like its the end of the world. Why the heck should I stop buying games from Steam because it's 5€ more?
Normally games are 49.99, now it's 54.99. How in the world does that makes a difference? 5€ are money you can find on the fucking streets.
Omg it's only $80 on STEAM.
That's like $20 cheaper than usual.
Omg it's only $80 on STEAM.

Please don't buy it on Steam, it encourages high prices even if it's cheaper for you.

it's 10 more in USD and there's no reason for the price increase.

The £15 difference adds up over time.
That's £15 you could spend on something more useful than video games, like food, energy, water etc
Paying the normal price on another site is perfectly fine however.
Please don't buy it on Steam, it encourages high prices even if it's cheaper for you.
It's $8.05 cheaper on STEAM.

And that doesn't include shipping from EBGames if you're a lazy fuck like me.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BQZ5EWW/ref=s9_bbs_gw_d0_g63_ir05?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-4&pf_rd_r=1M4BRZCNA6MKWHYXEHRR&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470939031&pf_rd_i=507846
$60 from Amazon, not including shipping, which is probably like $50 to Australia if I want to see it within 2 weeks.

Then people from UK shouldn't probably buy from Steam but the rest should be fine, right.
It's $8.05 cheaper on STEAM.[T]http://i.cubeupload.com/4nPV9y.png[/T]

I weren't serious, go get the game :D.
For the amount of content turned into DLC they should be giving us a discount, not upping the price.
Then people from UK, probably shouldn't buy from Steam but the rest should be fine, right.
You're all still getting charged more than you should for a game.
22% discount at getgamesgo http://getgamesgo.com/product/total-war-rome-2-po
Fortunately Amazon are selling it for £29.99
You're all still getting charged more than you should for a game.
Why would I care about 5€?
Why would I care about 5€?
Because if you spend 5€ extra each time, it builds up to a very large sum of cash.
You shouldn't be that careless with money.

I think 55€ for a game is absolutely fine. Even if everyone would start charging 5 I wouldn't stop buying from Steam. Sure, I could have saved so much money searching through internet for cheaper prices, but I like getting it from Steam for numerous reasons.

What are these numerous reasons?
Total War Rome 2 is a Steamworks game, so there's literally no issue in buying it from other places.

They'll raise the price 5 euro's again over time, and every time people like you will say "Oh well it's only 5 euro's more expensive than usual, what are you all complaining about?".
[editline]9th May 2013[/editline]
It's 45 euro's on bol.com, if you live in the Netherlands, no clue if it's cheaper in other parts of Europe.

A couple games has been over 50€ for the standard edition, it's not like it's a new thing and I doubt it's a "trend".

Not having to buy it at other places and register new accounts, having every receipt from the same place, easier when you want to get support when the history is from the same place.
Steam Wallet Credits, can buy a game with CC and steam credits together. Yes, Steam might be more expensive, but it's worth it for the convenience.

I don't buy a video game on the PC if it's higher than 50 bucks, I vote with my wallet, unlike some people who buy it regardless.
The reason why they raised the price to 60 dollars/euros for other games on the PC is because the price for console games is 60 dollars/euros. The console prices are only acceptable because the publisher has to pay Sony or Microsoft a small fee for every copy sold, because of the Xbox and PS3 markings on the cover.

Yes I buy it regardless if it's 50 or 55. Not really talking about 60 dollar games. There have been other titles that are 55 or so for the standard version. I buy the Deluxe version if it's available so I never find it wrong to pay over 50 anyway :).

but i can pay 55€, thats not the issue, the issue here is the principle. they shouldnt feel the greed to just up the prices as they see fit, and judging from Shogun 2 and with the fucking metric tons of DLC that has i expect this shit to be atleast 40-45€ on steam

Of course they can price it how they want. It's up to you to accept that or not, I do and therefore I bought it.
