Of course they can price it how they want. It's up to you to accept that or not, I do and therefore I bought it.
what are the chances that youre just living off someone elses cash and not your own hard-earned buckaroos?
jesus christ you kids need to take a class in economy cause money is important, 5€ or not.

That's not really none of your business.
I were actually really surprised that you were Swedish, you if anyone sounds like a kid the way you type. So maybe you shouldn't call other people a kid as chances are I'm older than you.
Money is as important as the person makes it out to be. If a person have a good life, good economy, money is certainly not as important as that person can afford spending money on useless things.
Of course they can price it how they want. It's up to you to accept that or not, I do and therefore I bought it.
So you'll happily pay more money than you should for jack shit in return? Great, thanks for letting the publisher know they can rob their customers in broad daylight.

If I think the product is worth the price they set, I will buy it yes. I think 55€ is fine for this game hence I bought it.

But you do realise there is no reason for it to cost this much, right? The Total War series is by no means niche and this will sell very well, so the only reason Sega are setting the price this is high is because they can.

jesus christ with all those grammatical errors you call me a kid? and how is that any relevant, youre basically admitting that you A) get autism-bucks and/or mooch of your parents and B) let yourself get robbed
and how was my being swedish a surprise? is it relevant?
If I think the product is worth the price they set, I will buy it yes. I think 55€ is fine for this game hence I bought it.
So you backpedaled from "you're pathetic for not wanting to do this" to "it's my opinion."
Please stop.

Yes they can do whatever they want and set what price they want. But as I said, it's up to the buyer to accept the price or not?

Not really, I still think the people I talked about are pathetic.
Not really, I still think the people I talked about are pathetic.
That's really dumb, you should try viewing the situation from other people's perspectives. Just because you have money to poop out doesn't mean everyone else has to be willing to pay extra.
The whole reason why the typical AAA game became 60 USD to begin with is because it worked. If people didn't buy games that were labeled their price, the prices would be forced to stick where they are, if not move down. I don't want to support a company when they're trying to charge more for their games, because if we do, they will continue to release games at that price.

I can and I understand that people may not want it at that price. Since there are sites that have it cheaper, good for them! But those people shouldn't tell other what to do, how to spend their money just because they accept the higher price? I want to buy it on Steam, I acknowledge the extra 5€ and fully accept it.
Thats what I think is pathetic.
Yes they can do whatever they want and set what price they want. But as I said, it's up to the buyer to accept the price or not?
And like I said, by accepting the price your telling the publisher you're okay with paying more for nothing. What's important is that this doesn't effect just you; if the game sells well in this instance, it may lead other publishers to start raising the price of their games and eventually the average price of PC games goes up whilst the quality or amount of content does not. I'm not here to tell you how to spend your money, but clearly your passionate about games and I think it's important that you understand the economics behind your purchase.

It's pathetic to try and advise people on how to best utilise their money?

Isn't it a game Steamworks game anyway..? you can pay less for the same exact result on another site :v
It's not even about the high price at that point, why wouldn't you save money when you have the chance?

Then I'm sorry to say that I will not stop buying games on Steam because of that, since I have no problem with the price.

Because I want it on Steam and not on some other site, I want to buy it from Steam, use my credits/CC on Steam.

What difference does it make?
You get a code from another site and redeem it on Steam, bam, it's in your Steam library forever. Is saving money really not that important to you? I try to do it whenever I possibly can because you benefit from it later.

Then I thank you in advance for helping to ruin the digital PC game market.

There is no reason, I just want to buy from Steam.

You're welcome.
There is no reason, I just want to buy from Steam.
Well then I'm afraid you have no right to call anyone pathetic if you are not able to provide any real legitimate reason other than "I want to" because it's clear that this situation is entirely under your opinion. So by calling others pathetic, you're calling them pathetic for not agreeing with your opinion. Which is indeed pathetic.

I posted this in a couple posts above.
Not having to buy it at other places and register new accounts, having every receipt from the same place, easier when you want to get support when the history is from the same place.
Steam Wallet Credits, can buy a game with CC and steam credits together. Yes, Steam might be more expensive, but it's worth it for the convenience.
I guess that's my reasons.
I posted this in a couple posts above.

At least it's a reason in some shape. But it still falls under your opinion that the money is worth the convenience.
[editline]9th May 2013[/editline]
Errr.. the convenience is worth the money, I mean.
I wish games still had demos... purely to test how my system handles it.
The STALKER games had a downloadable engine benchmark to test your hardware before purchasing. This should be standard. I think it encourages piracy too, I've pirated in the past if I was unsure how a game would run. If it runs fine and I enjoy it I always buy it, but there's DEFINITELY been times when I'm glad I pirated it first and it runs like crap.
They'll raise the price 5 euro's again over time, and every time people like you will say "Oh well it's only 5 euro's more expensive than usual, what are you all complaining about?".
[editline]9th May 2013[/editline]
It's 45 euro's on bol.com, if you live in the Netherlands, no clue if it's cheaper in other parts of Europe.
I repeat, GreenManGaming, $45 which is about 34€. I'm starting to sound like an adbot for GMG but so far they are the cheapest. I'll probably pick it up soon.
While I balk at the price a bit.... Yeah sure it seems a lot, but just think of how many hours you're going to get out of it if it's anything like RTW. I must have easily gotten a couple hundred hours on the original Rome Total war, not including the expansions.

The price of the game shouldn't have anything to do with the hours you get out of it.
The price of the game shouldn't have anything to do with the hours you get out of it.
No, but its something to consider when judging by a price alone. Yeah, a big price tag does seem like a lot if you look at it as a single purchase, but if you look at it as an investment, it's not so bad. Thats not me saying that I agree with the price though.
The price of the game shouldn't have anything to do with the hours you get out of it.
It tells value though.
I don't buy FPS games most of the time because I feel jipped only getting 12 hours out of 60 dollars.
I don't feel jipped at getting 300 hours out of 60 dollars.
You're the guy who flatout admitted that you preorder every major game that shows up on Steam and then worries about its quality after you buy it.
Not to be rude, but I think your opinion on the value of money isn't exactly weighty.
I don't exactly worry about the quality. I said, if it's shit, then it's shit.

and you idiots whine about $60
It's ridiculous how you're preording it already a few MONTHS before release. Didn't the last few botched releases of PC games teach you anything? How many people preordered that Aliens game or Sim City or Diablo 3 or Duke Nukem, etc etc. There is literally not a single reason to already buy it. It won't get more expensive than it already is and it would be hilarious if Steam could actually run out of stock.

Total War games always have demos. I'm sure Rome II will have one.
