Summer sale is soon, that $25 will probably drop a bit.
Reminder that the two expensive DLCs dropped to $5 last Christmas sale.
I'm not well informed in this matter, but achieving 64-bit compatibility isn't really a milestone? I thought that was one of the most basic foundations in game development, especially for a large studio like this. I don't know, maybe it is difficult or not, but if I'm right; it feels pretty pathetic and depressing.
Skyrim was made in a time where 64-bit OS wasn't really in the mainstream.
Now, it needs to be 64-bit, because otherwise why even remaster it? Also consoles are 64-bit so it was obvious that this would be too.
So basically this is just he 64-bit version of skyrim modders wanted for a while. Barring the rendering upgrades.
I still haven't actually finished either of them so I eagerly await SkyrimSE.

Are the new script extender initials going to be SKSESE

Jokes on you, I already burned it down with my AMD crossfire setup
But will the porn mods still work?

I wouldn't quite say that. Skyrim was released 2 years after Windows 7, it's marketshare was already huge by then and by far the average 7 install was 64bit.

Marketese much. The SKSE teams, SKYUI and have already no to Special Edition and Fore said yesterday he has no intention of writing anything to do with behavior files for FO4 or anything like FO4 and if SRSE isn't a straight forward recompile he has no intention of rewriting anything for it either.
In two of those cases the mods are not publicly held/curated so good luck with that, you'll be waiting a while unless the BNCK can somehow magically recompile a 64bit end user version of the mod without a source.
So unless other people intend to start over from scratch on those projects, it's not gonna be the [del]paid[/del] donation curated mod wonderland Bethesda hopes it'll be.
They also underestimate how reactionary the Nexus community is. Some of the best and most useful mods out there went to hidden when workshop theft started and never came back, and that was a rainy drizzle compared to the shitstorm of theft and cross-crying that is FO4.
Can't make mods without the mod community, and we've already seen from the Sims and Paid Mods what happens when you try to tell the modding community what to do or how to act.

Not really Bethesda's fault by any regard. They provided an additional platform akin to the workshop that could work on consoles, and provided modders with a game that supports a higher quantity of more complex mods.
The Nexus on the other hand has been breeding a generation of oversensitive modders who are accustomed to a hugbox where critics are shut down instantly. Any form of criticism will lead to mods banning you or to modders blocking access to their mod pages, with several instances of modders just completely removing their mods from the Nexus in a kneejerk reaction. This is something that's been happening since Fallout 3 and it has gotten increasingly worse with Skyrim, only to reach a critical point now.
It's not Bethesda's fault if the modding community is turning into complete fucking tosspots. The only ones at fault are the Nexus and the modders themselves.
