The number doesn't surprise me really, as good as Divinity was it still belongs in a very niche market. Old school RPGs like that just really aren't that popular. I would imagine Pillars of Eternity and Wasteland 2 are all going to be sub a million total sales when they're all said and done.
That said I'm glad it's enough for Larian to keep on going.
It was nice game, combat, skills and etc... but holy crap the dialogue and story was bad. Put me to sleep most of the time.
The story in the game that I hoped was great turned out to be quite... shattered and quite difficult to understand... the humor in the game questline become nothing more then jokes and there is rarely any storyline to begin with... I've stopped playing the game after part 2 because the storyline became so fucking boring and lacking.
Maybe others feels this way as well or not interested into the old classical PC rpg games like balder's gate or Icewind Dale, while others perfer modern RPGS like Skyrim, destiny, and jrpg's that actually focus on a very strong RPG system like tales of xillia or final fantasy 10 HD version. the sales pretty much judge the game of the reason why it's not selling like hot cakes.
Yeah, the story was rather... hard to wrap your mind around. But aside from that (and even though I haven't finished it up to this day, even though I got it through early access) it was rather well done overall. I just hope they keep up the good work and sell even more units.

Wait, so it was the complete opposite of Divinity 2? Well, if you rolled Mage that is.
Also I was holding off on this purchase because of the price and off what I saw missing from the alpha. I heard its amazing though, so time to support them. Woop woop!
The concept was freaking amazing. Me and my friend loved playing through the campaign together. I want to see more RPGs based around coop.
Might have to check this game out.
