If not many people used it what's the point in having it
What's the point of not having it?? It's a straight up net positive.
EA sprinkled some of that nostalgia and fanboyism onto their dick before ramming up peoples' asses. If this wasn't Star Wars people would be almost unanimously against it.
Can't know that for sure until it actually happens. And believe me, people will still buy it simply because it's the next shooter from a AAA studio.
What's the point of not having it?? It's a straight up net positive.
It's like the lack of server browser. Why are they gutting basic pc gaming features from this game left and right.
So the game sucks ass I take it?
First match playing beta "Holy shit i'm on some scraggly planet blasters explosions" everyones said it, the atmosphere and sound is fantastic 10/10. But then your second match you go 23-4 because no-one knows how to shoot and you have an almost instant kill sniper rifle that recharges every 7 seconds and a grenade every 9, it's way too simple for me. Oh and vehicles are powerups.
It's like the lack of server browser. Why are they gutting basic pc gaming features from this game left and right.
At the very least we don't have the shitty web browser crap this time 'round...
If not many people used it what's the point in having it
what about for survival mode?
At the very least we don't have the shitty web browser crap this time 'round...
It worked a lot faster and easier then an in game browser. For me at least. Maybe if you have problems alt-tabbing it could be an issue.
What's the point of not having it?? It's a straight up net positive.
It costs time and money to make, that they could be spending on other features, that more then 0.1% of the users benefit from.
It costs time and money to make, that they could be spending on other features, that more then 0.1% of the users benefit from.
it costs time and money to implement a feature that's already in BF4? isn't that something they could just port over
Dice went out of the way for color-blind configurations which accommodates even less
Doesn't color blindness affect 1 in 12 males? I would honestly not be shocked if less people than that regularly used ingame voice chat
how are you people actually against having voice chat in a team-based shooter? how much is EA paying you because i've never seen anyone actually defend a decision like this before besides with splatoon
It's not like this game is CSGO or something, voice chat and teamwork don't matter in non-competitive games. The voice chat would just be used for flaming or non-game related things.
People are scared that this game will get by simply because it's Star Wars, I think this game has been getting a lot more of a critical reaction simply because it's Star Wars. I really welcome the shooting mechanics with open arms, just the core gameplay is leagues above anything Dice has shat out recently.
The big thing they've been shooting for seems to be atmosphere, so I can see why they might cut in-game voice if they think people screaming obscenities might take away from the star wars experience It's inconvenient but this Battlefront is a really arcadey, casual shooter in the first place
At the very least we don't have the shitty web browser crap this time 'round...
I'd prefer that over no option at all.
Good Saves having to go through the effort of muting other players every single match because all they ever do is whinge and talk shit/fucking eat, drink and burp like slobs/have a shitty mic set-up where what they're hearing through their sound system isn't cancelled out and so everyone else hears it too. [editline]14th October 2015[/editline]
I'd prefer that over no option at all.
The less games with server browsers, the better. This is 2015, not 1999.
There's an audio slider for player voice chat in like every game ever.
I don't like to mute everyone, only the people who are fuckwits. About half of them. But thanks for the suggestion, that would probably be better anyways.
Does anyone actually care? I've never ever ever seen people using voice chat in a public game for any good reason and if you're playing with a group of friends, you're better off using teamspeak or mumble either way.
yes because it's 2015 and the trend seems to be removing features for some reason and it's news when something isn't removed or isn't following bad gaming trends
If it's removing features that no one ever uses for any good reason, I don't see what the problem is.
It costs time and money to make, that they could be spending on other features, that more then 0.1% of the users benefit from.
voice chat isn't exactly something that's difficult to implement and has been around in games for decades.
Seriously, at this point if anyone actually wants to use something for voice chat, there are a tonne of free options that arguably work better than ingame options.
Seriously, at this point if anyone actually wants to use something for voice chat, there are a tonne of free options that arguably work better than ingame options.
I don't think the strangers I'm playing with want to download and go onto some random voice chat server with the stranger that is me.
Because this worked so well with Battlefield 3. Here's the part where I mention Angels Fall First
I don't think the strangers I'm playing with want to download and go onto some random voice chat server with the stranger that is me.
The strangers you're playing with aren't going to use voice chat for anything meaningful either though.
I don't know what they keep making silly decisions like this? I mean its a team based game, would you remove team based options.
I don't know what they keep making silly decisions like this? The people who would actually fight as a team would already be using something like TeamSpeak on PC or party mode on consoles.
"People don't use it anyway" is a really bad mentality, because what actually happens with me is that VoIP on BF4 is actually pretty common, every two matches or so I end up in a communicating squad that calls out enemies and saves my life. Usually what it takes is to someone to show initiative and the rest starts talking. Yes, there is teamwork with strangers, and no, not everyone has the patience to go to TS just for that one server you're playing, actually that's the minority.
Implying that people, strangers, fight as a team online. The people who would actually fight as a team would already be using something like TeamSpeak on PC or party mode on consoles.
I've had many experiences in BF4 (Thanks to, but limited squad voice chat option) successful corporation and team gameplay with complete strangers. In my opinion its such a simple, yet effective feature. I don't understand why they won't add it, and the excuse that some annoying kid is going to ruin the 'sound design' is complete nonsense. They can just simply add an option to mute other players like so many other FPS have.
Angels Fall First is looking a lot better tbh.
The strangers you're playing with aren't going to use voice chat for anything meaningful either though.
How the fuck do you know that? I've played Battlefield 4 and had pubs tell me where the enemy are heading to in Conquest. "Hey guys they're heading for B, need help defending." That kind of shit is important. Just because MOST people don't use it does NOT mean it shouldn't be there for the people who DO use it. It's been a feature in games for decades and costs nothing to implement. Companies started adding things like FOV sliders and color blind mode to please the minority. Since when did minority mean fucking nothing to people? Especially when it involves a feature that has been in video games since the fucking Dreamcast, or the original Counter-Strike.
