If they were to delay it a year I'm sure they'd let you cancel it easily. Duke Nukem Forever had pre-orders a long time ago.

Release dates get pushed and brought forward all the time.
Unless you're buying a game on Steam, where you part with your money before you receive the game, you don't actually pay for a game until it's ready for dispatch. This does not apply to Steam or GameStop's online store.

Do you really think they didn't consider that? For some reason the EU is as weird as fuck about releases, with almost all of them being released on Fridays, so they probably couldn't bump the date up for that reason, so they had to bump it back.
