I own both PS3 and Xbox and out of both services I find that Xbox is reliable where as PS3 lags all to shit. Remember, those subscription fees are paying for servers, maintenance, updates, and customer service. You get what you pay for.
Do have any actual evidence or are you just going to throw out shit? I've had both consoles for ages as well and I haven't had any lag issues that weren't on my end.
"YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" Yeah, totally justifies everything you just said. I'm a PC gamer 90% of the time, a PS3 player 10% of the time (for exclusives) and an Xbox gamer 0% of the time. Whenever I do play a PS3 game online, it's something like Dark Souls, Twisted Metal and Dust514. I haven't experienced lag once and that whole "security scandal"? That happened over a year ago and was a one time incident. Inconvenient? Yes but the same thing could have happened to Microsoft. There is no way I am going to pay $7.99 a month to be advertised to. Same reason why I don't pay $60 a month for cable television, just to watch 15 minutes of a show and the other 15 are ads. I shouldn't have to pay a fee to play my games I purchased online and I certainly shouldn't have to pay $7.99 to access my fucking netflix account which is free to access on every other device in existence. Anyways, enjoy playing your multiplatform games, that probably look and perform worse than its counterparts, hope your "friends" are worth putting up with a lack of decent games, a barrage of advertisements and an overall shitty console that hasn't been relevant since Halo Reach came out.
When did this turn into a console war? Honestly. We're talking about a subscription service here, not the games or third party applications. I agree that it's stupid to have to have Gold for Netflix or Youtube. But I use my PC for those things so it's irrelevant to me. There are those who don't have the option of using other consoles or a PC though and it does truly suck that they are forced to pay for what is free otherwise. I also didn't mention the "security scandal" because even though I was a victim of that, I was never truly affected by it as my account remained in my control thanks to Sony's quick response to the situation. They're gifted games were a generous gesture to their fans and I admire them for it. I never said I dislike PS3. In fact I enjoy it when I do play it. I just prefer to play my multiplayer on Xbox rather than PS3, but if given the choice I would choose my PC every time. The thing that really grinds my gears and should upset everyone else as well, are exclusives. Why should anyone buy a console for that one game they want to play? Not many people do that, and those who do often regret it because they now have a paper weight that is only used for one or two games because of "exclusive!". If it weren't for exclusive titles these petty arguments about consoles wouldn't be happening as often and most people would be satisfied. They can support their favorite companies and still play their favorite games.
I hear gold has fuckloads of advertising, why do people pay to see adverts?
I have a feeling next gen will have paid online services, for both PS4 and the new Xbox. Live still exists because people are willing to pay for it, and it's been happening so long that it's become norm. Even if it doesn't really provide anything, there is no reason to get rid of it.
PSN alone is much better than XBL, but PSN+ is the absolute ultimate console pay-for-use system. The free 3 months I got after the hacking were great; free games, exclusive demos, etc. [editline]20th May 2013[/editline] Also if you think paying for Xbox Live means you get better servers and faster downloads, then I've got some swampland in Florida to sell you....
I like how people pretend that Live has more features for the money, when really the only thing I'm missing from PSN is party chat. Everything else is fine, and I'm saving hundreds of dollars [editline]20th May 2013[/editline] And if people want to say that we're missing out on the Indie market games, then lol
I like it because it's convenient, so many of my friends play it, Halo, etc... IMO the experience is just better than PSN (and I've used both).
And if people want to say that we're missing out on the Indie market games, then lol
Sony has been showing plenty love for Indies lately which is good, because imo i think Indie games will play a key part to the success of the next gen.
I hear gold has fuckloads of advertising, why do people pay to see adverts?
Most ads are actually news about upcoming games, demos, trailers and all that nonsense. It's not that bad, it's more like a fast hub for new stuff that is going on. Altough recently I got an ad about an new samsung galaxy which was really annoying.
Sony has been showing plenty love for Indies lately which is good, because imo i think Indie games will play a key part to the success of the next gen.
Oh, no, we're not talking about just indie games, we're talking Xbox indie market games here.
Sony has been showing plenty love for Indies lately which is good, because imo i think Indie games will play a key part to the success of the next gen.
Have you seen the Xbox Indie games, they're mostly fucking atrocious and absolutely bad. Only a few are really good. The whole service should be taken out. Xbox "Indie" games are not really great because it lacks quality controls and regulation. They really suck.
PSN+ is superior in literally every way possible. You don't have video ads on your dashboard, and you get free games frequently. you can also still play with people that have regular psn
No, I have an Xbox because of friends. I like Gold for other reasons. Remember, those subscription fees are paying for servers, maintenance, updates, and customer service. You get what you pay for. The reason PC gamers don't need to pay subscription fees is because as PC gamers they share the freedom of being able to host their own servers for their favorite games as well as the availability of mods to fix games that don't get regular updates or have features that the community believes to be lacking.
I can get all that same shit, better, on PC, for free (excluding paying for ISP). They fuck you (and everyone else who uses Live) over, and they know it, and love it.
Honestly the only reason I still have Xbox Live is because I can't afford a PS3 and I play with my friends who only have Xboxs
I use my xbox ONLY for forza 4, and live gold is a must for this game, this sucks.
should be called xbox shit instead of live
I'd totally trade my 360 for a PS3 if I could. Sony exclusives imo seem to be of a better quality than Microsofts.
Xbox 360 gold is not worth it anymore. Not with all those stupid ad bullshit they are putting up. Once I get a new gaming PC rig, I probably sell away my 360.
I'm going back to PS once XB is over, unless they pull some amazing shit.. Honestly, without Halo being HALO (hint: halo 4 being fantasy and not sci-fi) I have no reason whatsoever to buy an xbox.

And a bit of Gears of War.
Man if those Twitter users knew anything about PC Gaming :v:
