I am honestly even visually this game seems a step down from Sims 3. I mean sure, pudding faces weren't all that great, but the model and texture quality on the hair here alone makes me shudder.
I'd prolly disagree with that, too. It's not supposed to be realistic, it's heavily stylized. Cartoony. It's good cartoony, though. It's very clean, the animations are smooth, the world appears detailed and seamless, and the lighting looks great. I think that it looks like a marked improvement over the Sims 3. And, being that The Sims games have very active modding communities, it's no great challenge for you to just download more realistic textures.
I dont really like the idea of having furniture impact on your sims emotions..It could be a silly joke only, or something that could get really annoying really fast
I dont really like the idea of having furniture impact on your sims emotions..It could be a silly joke only, or something that could get really annoying really fast
I dunno, makes sense to me. In your Create-a-Sim menu, they mention that you'll not only be able to pick out traits, as in the previous game, but also moods and general behaviors. Having various decorative pieces that impact your emotions could play into that quite nicely-- a gloomy and brooding Sim might find a room decorated by disturbing statues and creepy paintings comforting, whereas a peppy and upbeat Sim could feel quite distressed by it. Further more, you could probably use your furniture to impact home design in some interesting ways, allowing you to sort of designate where the action happens by having Sims gravitate towards rooms decorated for a more social or fun atmosphere, instead of just hanging out in the bathroom like a bunch of friggen weirdos (unless, I guess, they are the sort of Sim that tries to avoid the action). It opens up some cool gameplay options and possibilities, and it really allows you to tailor your game around your Sim. If I make a Sim who is supposed to be creepy, offputting, and sociopathic, it'd be nice to have him actually act like that, and for other Sims to treat him like that. Breaks gameplay a bit when my Jeffrey Dahmer Sim is the most popular dude at the party. The more I think about it, I'm actually pretty impressed with the idea of the emotions system. I mean, I guess we'll see how it turns out, but I can definitely see the possibility for it to add a lot of depth to the game.
i wish sims stop speaking gibberish fake language
i wish sims stop speaking gibberish fake language
do i really need to write a 30 page MLA essay explaining why that's a dumb idea

Moral of the story: use black magic to destroy your rivals and get laid.
I dont really like the idea of having furniture impact on your sims emotions..It could be a silly joke only, or something that could get really annoying really fast
Well it makes sense. In it's essence Sims IS a life simulator (albeit a rather silly one), and our real life emotions are impacted by our surroundings.
So far the sim creator looks pretty good, the thing that bothers me in 3 the whole neighborhood feels so empty, it didn't help that job buildings or school were just rabbit holes.
The character creator looks like it could create a whole new breed of disfigured abominations, but every time I've preordered a maxis game I've been burned hard by it turning out to be garbage. Guess I'll see how it turns out and then maybe pick it up in half a decade when all the expansions are out and Sims 5 is being announced. ...Actually, wait, that reminds me. I said the same thing about three. Gonna go grab that, then.
awesome, here comes auschwitz, not with better psychological depth i can give the jews voodoo dolls to make the guards angry, so they treat the jews worse it's genius
Moral of the story: use black magic to destroy your rivals and get laid.
ofc they have the black guy doing voodoo magic

I think I might have caught a water in the gutters effect in this trailer. http://i43.tinypic.com/2mqkzvc.png http://i44.tinypic.com/ohs9pc.png It isn't very easily noticeable, but it looks like there is water by the gutters in both pictures and from the below one compared to the above one, it seems the water by the gutter has moved. Call me optimistic, but im going to assume this means weather of some form will finally be in the base game, that is a good thing. Anyway, the trailer itself was pretty good and this is making me excited! Reminds me alot of The Sims 2, and thats a great thing.
nice catch
I like that they've repurposed Spore's creation engine for something. That was probably the best part of that game save for the space stage.

I really can't get hyped for this game. Unless it has a massive amount of content on release, I don't see why I'd buy it rather than just reinstalling the Sims 2 and the huge-ass pile of expansions that I already have. Sure there are some improvements, but the game won't feel complete if I can't have a werewolf-plant-sorcerer who runs a store in his garage.

Why is there never disabilities and deformities I want sims with wheelchair and old with dementia. No one even mods this in.
Why is there never disabilities and deformities I want sims with wheelchair and old with dementia. Hope you can edit sims height this time
Hope you can edit sims height this time
The reason they haven't done that probably has to do with the interaction animations and issues with matching them up
Has the Sims always been so silly? I can't remember anything like having an actual working rocket in the backgarden in previous games. I might be wrong though.
I remember Sims 1 being sort of serious. The music was amazing.
So far the sim creator looks pretty good, the thing that bothers me in 3 the whole neighborhood feels so empty, it didn't help that job buildings or school were just rabbit holes.
I've always wanted to follow a sim into school and you are able to control the sim in school. So like, attending class or sneaking off, do some extra work at school for higher grades or use a object that makes you learn skills because you cannot afford it for your home yet. Another thing i would always wanted was that you would be able to skip the entire work day for example. I hate waiting so long for the sim to come home so i can do something.
Why don't they add guns to make the love stories even more interesting.
Why don't they add guns to make the love stories even more interesting.
I tried, bt the only good gun mod I could find for Sims 2 need an expansion I didn't have.
I can't wait to kill sims who have emotions.
Now I can date my sims
So if they have emotions, does that mean I get to watch the sims go through the stages of grief when I trap them in the cage in my living room?
