Doesn't matter a shit about graphics if it's still going to have the same stale gameplay as before.
Will be a pain to shove tacticool weapons in that. [editline]23rd April 2014[/editline] The lower part of that strap looks very modern plasticy.
cod isn't known for it's historical accuracy, at this stage it could be anything from ww2 to present day to 2033
Those textures. So AWFUL considering this is a highly iterative 3-year dev-cycle next-gen game when we've got games from half a decade ago+ like Killzone 2 and Crysis that look leagues better. I mean, this screenshot has the potential to be the new Wall Guy - And people took YEARS to shut up about Wall Guy. I mean, oh well, I guess we can judge more in a year or two when 8th gen kicks off, after all, we started 7th gen with games that looked like they were built for the PS2 or even older hardware like Resistance and [del]Wall Guy Zero[/del] Perfect Dark Zero

That level of detail is nice (even if other games have already equaled/surpassed it), but the game looking prettier isn't going to be much of a selling point if they can't make the gameplay feel fresh again.
It's not groundbreaking but I'd hardly call it awful. It's probably 2048x2048 textures for the face and helmet which is a massive improvement over most games out there.

Left is promotional screenshot Right is how it'll actually look

KEITH DAVID CONFIRMED ramirez confirmed
Call of Duty hasn't pushed technical boundaries since Call of Duty 2 so it's not really surprising that this one pre-release picture doesn't look cutting edge.
Crysis 3
Several caveats, namely the fact that the entire brand appeal of Crysis games is that they look good. Also the fact that this screenshot is absolutely not from any console versions of the game which invariably ran at 30 FPS optimistically while Call of Duty brings 60 FPS every year. Also Crysis 3 was fairly mediocre which goes to show that looking pretty isn't the only thing games can or should do.
Or alternatively, make the games fun in a way that appeals to actual people as opposed to just humans.
What does this even mean.
What does this even mean.
A bad way of saying treat your target market like they're people who can appreciate something beyond Michael Baysplosions. The whole issue with COD is the same as Transformers. It encourages conformity among peers and the real selling point is "look at how much money we blew on voice actors and asset creators".
That shit looks like plastic yo.
Prerendered
Well so much for being Optimistic.
So they're just going to start calling them by years now like a sports game?
Can't tell if this is sarcasm but, they haven't announced the name of the game yet. So, people are calling it Call of Duty 2014 until the official name is released.
Prerendered
It doesn't even look good enough to justify that kind of speculation.
This is just a teaser for Call of Duty: Big Black Cock Operations 3 or B-Cops for short
Oh boy, another reskin.
It's one picture. If you are going to be the stereotypical Call of Duty hater at least wait till some game play is released.
If this game doesn't have a dew and dorritos promotion I'm going to be pissed.
Could we be seeing a return to WWII?
I certainly hope not. That has been done so many times before that the nazis are already shitting lead. I'd like them to go further into the future and kind of lead through a Black Ops 2 world, but this time with cyborgs and shit like that, you know, where you could actually consider perks to be somewhat realistic and stuff. At least thats the feel I got when I played BO2. Felt a bit like I was playing a more DX:HRy game, with more high tech gadgets and guns, scenery that looks somewhat futuristic and not looking so "present day-like". BUT... Thanks to the moneygrubbing plan Activision has for CoD, no game can be truely good and enjoyable anymore. Bo2 felt nice, but since we know theres gonna be a next cod, its dead before its born.
I actually really enjoyed the campaigns of Black Ops and Black Ops 2. The first one brought an interesting psych-thriller and espionage element to the mix, and tied it in with what we thought was going to be an unrelated game (World at War). Black Ops 2 was the most original (in the series) in terms of gameplay in the campaign, with side missions and various outcomes to the story depending upon performance. Yes, they aren't brilliantly written, but they're far above the IW/Sledgehammer shlock that most people associate CoD with.
How could someone possibly believe it's a WW2 revisit when the screenshot is an african american male with a plastic strap on his head? This is obviously going to be some futuristic/modern day crap.
Beyond: Two CODs
Could we be seeing a return to WWII?
It's Sledgehammer games, the guys that helped with MW3. Not a fucking chance. TBH I can't wait for the next CoD [sp]that's made by Treyarch because they're actually pretty good. The Black Ops series was the first recent CoD game to have a campaign I could beat without taking a month or six break. That said, everything since CoD4 made by IW/Sledgehammer has been a piece of shit.[/sp]

Horrible everything, to put it simple. They left the Rangers part of the story aside, which imo was probably the best parts of the game (the part with the EMP and all the lights out being the very BEST part of the story in MW2) to tell the tale of what happened after Roach and Ghost died. I couldn't even finish the game over how fucking boring it was. Mw2 could have been soo much better than it was aswell... And yeah, blackops 1 and 2 seemed to be the superior CoD games after MW1 and maybe (most likely) MW2
COD2 was the best one. 4 and WaW were the only good ones after that with some actual effort put into it.
COD2 was the best one. 4 and WaW were the only good ones after that with some actual effort put into it.
CoD 1 was the best game did you not play the mods? There were so many good mods and CoD 2 had no good mods or maps. Scratch that CoD: United Offensive was the best game and here's why: -Fun vehicles and tanks -New weapons like deploy-able machine guns and semi autos for the germans and russians -Ability to call in artillery strikes once you had a high enough rank -BIG ASS MAPS. Probably bigger than 90% of Battlefield 4's maps. -Good mods and and good custom maps. There was this one cool mod that added Russian light tanks, 7 seat trucks, and half tracks.
So are they just going to start calling them by the year they are released in, like NHL or FIFA, or Football manager
So are they just going to start calling them by the year they are released in, like NHL or FIFA, or Football manager
Too bad it's nothing like the original game. At least the modern warfare games had something from the original games, be it one of the sillier characters in my mind (Captain Price. He died in CoD1 what the hell guys).

If this level of detail will be consistent for many parts of the game to which you could get up close, and not exclusive to a few important faces I'd actually be very impressed. I don't get all the hate this unreleased game gets based on one picture tbh
I think the fans excuse or idea is that the price in MW is the son or grandson of price from The WW2 COD's
Anything to bring back a familiar face. I wonder why the devs liked him so much as to bring him back into 3 different games (not counting MW3 which was done by the fake IW). [editline]22nd April 2014[/editline] I can't wait to use this gun in the next game:
