There is a lot wrong with this game compared to the first one, like enemies not falling if they get shot, you being insanely inaccurate yet enemies being amazing shots and are able to see you from far away. There is no element of surprise anymore. Still, was pretty fun, just don't expect it to try to be as realistic and built around patience anymore.
Get Sniper Elite for 2.50 and use that as a demo for the time being.
Played on PSN, preordered for PC on steam, it's $44.99. $5 off is a good deal when you're getting both the DLC and Preorder.
we better beable to shoot him in the nut.
Oh dear God yes. I want this so fucking bad.
Oh dear God yes. I want this so fucking bad.
Judging by my accuracy in the demo, I'll end up clipping his ear, and then I'll die.
This game is not forgiving with accurate even on easy.
Like this? (not my video)
Fucking ow.
Fired a shot a 3 guys standing in a line, the round went through the soldiers heart and kept going and pierced the chest of the next solider, finally the bullet traveled and hit a soldiers grenade and blew him in half. I fucking love this game
I downloaded the demo on my 360. It's pretty good, I might get it.
I can't wait for the PC demo.
Does anyone know if the 2 preorder weapons will be available post release as dlc? [editline]12th April 2012[/editline] My dad loves the first one, I'll have to tell him about the demo.
The xray-cam is sick. I could play this demo forever.
Any news on PC demo?
Oh my God the demo is fucking awesome, played through it like 5 times yesterday, I love it's atmosphere, sound effects are pretty good too. Love the xray cam, also, I couldn't hit someone elses scope :saddowns:
I couldn't hit someone elses scope :saddowns:
Yea I was kinda disappointed by that. I wanted to re-enact that Sniper part in Saving Private Ryan.
I'm pretty sure I shot through a sniper scope once
Oh my god every kill is so satisfying.
Alright. Played the demo a few times, here's what I think of it. (+) - X-Ray kills are bloody, brutal and immensely satisfying to watch and pull off - crotchshots ftw - Sound design for weapons is fantastic, each weapon feels like a firecracker in your hands and it's pretty great - The ballistic physics seem well-implemented and mean you really need to take into consideration all factors when picking your target, just like a real sniper - You die pretty quickly trying to run'n'gun it, forces you to think about your targets and the battlefield in depth. (-) - Movement feels a little clunky, on several occasions where the Nazis stormed my location I found that being unable to react quickly due to slow, cumbersome movement was the death of me in all situations. - Enemy AI seems inconsistent. Some enemies rush for cover and begin searching for your position as you'd expect them to but others will round on your location immediately after the first shot's been fired and either stand or crouch in wide open space simply unloading in your general direction. - Stealth didn't matter at all. The first shots sometimes threw enemies into confusion when the AI reacted the right way but the 'Ghost' mechanic did nothing for me. Though it might just be because it was a pretty linear segment or down to AI faults. Hoping Rebellion will pull something out of this and get everything picture perfect for the final release, but until then I'll remain generally sceptical.
I'm not sure if this varies on difficulty, but I played the demo on the custom difficultly, with no aim assistance, and the AI at the hardest. Surprisingly, the AI played a lot smarter. The first encounter took me much longer than the other difficultly. A cool thing I noticed during this play through was that the AI actually picked up their wounded buddies and tried to drop them in cover.
Oh wow, I just watched a features trailer. I never used the 'mark' feature. So I never had that aim assist, so I made the demo harder for myself.
THIS IS MY VIDEO!!!! :D
Uh, okay? Can't wait for the PC demo
I'm looking forward to the PC demo so that I can aim properly. Also to check if my computer can run it acceptably.
Yeah, there's a lot of graphical issues on the PS3 like shadows popping in and some geometry popping in as well. Hope the PC gets rid of these.
Yeah, there's a lot of graphical issues on the PS3 like shadows popping in and some geometry popping in as well. I would have overlooked this demo, but when I saw the nutshots. Instant download.
Uh, okay? Can't wait for the PC demo
I guess he was wondering where the traffic came from
I don't get how ANYONE can aim shit like this well on a pad, can't wait for a pc demo.
Personally I found it to be rather easy aiming with a game pad.
Got one X-ray kill cam, and that was it. It was an incredibly satisfying one though, an enemy sniper crawling away on a rooftop from the injuries I gave him, my first two shots missed, and then the last one in my mag hit, and it was glorious. The bullet curved perfectly to hit him in the middle of his rear and the bullet travelled along the length of his spine, smashing every single vertebrae on its way before exiting through his nose.
