Got one X-ray kill cam, and that was it. It was an incredibly satisfying one though, an enemy sniper crawling away on a rooftop from the injuries I gave him, my first two shots missed, and then the last one in my mag hit, and it was glorious. The bullet curved perfectly to hit him in the middle of his rear and the bullet travelled along the length of his spine, smashing every single vertebrae on its way before exiting through his nose.
thanks for the mental image
So the PC version is best version.
I was reading Rebellion's twitter, they said they're 'self-publishing' the PC version (that is why the console demo came first), and only the PC version will have Team Deathmatch, console versions only have Co-op.
I don't get how ANYONE can aim shit like this well on a pad, can't wait for a pc demo.
You've evidently not played many console shooters. It's hardly near as precise as it is with a mouse but it's far from difficult.
console versions only have Co-op.
Really? That's fucking stupid, but then again Steam store says it has co-op.
Really? That's fucking stupid, but then again Steam store says it has co-op.
Maybe I should have worded that differently. PC version will have Co-Op and TDM. Consoles only have Co-Op, and not TDM.
Honestly this game is so niche I can deal without having competitive multiplayer. Nice throw in though.
The real nice thing is internally publishing the PC version so they should get it right. Can't wait
I noticed that if you pulled off a One shot Kill, the AI didn't really detect you, and was only when you missed that they went crazy. But that was just me, restarting the beginning of the level over and over and sniping at the 8 or so guys over and over

I did that too.
Someone should make a Sniper Elite Megathread. This game deserves it methinks.
Surprisingly long demo compared to most
God damn it, I won't let me download it because my account isn't gold anymore.
As done before, why not jump on the pro-con wagon.
(+)
- Large environment
- Dynamic combat (jump from sniper to CQC)
- Realistic combat
- Sounds are great
- Actual challenges on later levels, not "they have more health than you"
(-)
- AI can be iffy at times
- Sometimes hits don't register (but that's a demo issue I think)
- Lack of variety with enemies
It felt a little more linear than the original, to me
You had to go down the 4 streets, the way they wanted you to, and I don't think this was a First Mission level either, so it's not that it was a tutorial level to guide you
Hopefully it was just this level, or this portion of this level

There's probably way more to that level then we think, but due to the demo, we only see a hunk of it.
One thing I noticed is that enemies really don't load all the way. They just load a section at a time.

I think the original actually did this too.
Already played through it 3 times and I just noticed the MG42 in the building across. It looks like there was a path into that building that was used earlier on. I think this is partway through a level, not the beginning.
Take the alley across from the TNT pickup box.
It leads you to the windows into a building, where a guy will be walking about (shoot him with your pistol) then you can walk up to a window, and see the 2 Nazis in the shop across the way smoking and talking.
Take your time sniping them anyway you wish :P
I played this on PS2.
The graphics sucked balls and low performance.
But this game is cool.

I told my stepfather about this demo, he always likes playing sniper in fps games, so naturally, he enjoyed it. I was watching him play, teaching stuff etc, on that part, he said "What if I shoot his grenade?", "give it a shot", I swear I didn't even see any grenade in there, but he still managed to blow them up, I was impressed. He's gonna buy this game, that's for sure :v: Also I loved his "wows" and "OH MY GOD" reactions at the x-rays, amazing.

That's why you get the PC version of Sniper-Elite 1...

I tried shooting the grenades too as I knew it was a feature... but damn the console version is so stupid you can't see anything on the soldiers.
Fucking ow.
Good god that's cringe worthy.
Oh wow, I just watched a features trailer. I never used the 'mark' feature. So I never had that aim assist, so I made the demo harder for myself.

Maybe not on modern snipers.

I wonder what the recommended settings are.

- Movement feels a little clunky, on several occasions where the Nazis stormed my location I found that being unable to react quickly due to slow, cumbersome movement was the death of me in all situations.
Movement felt kinda clunky in V1 too.

That disagrees. Assuming the game rifle is zeroed at 0 yards, it will drop a minimum of ~40 inches.

No penis 0/10 i want refund
I hope Hitler only has one testical to shoot.
Bullet drop from what I can tell is slightly exaggerated but not really that bad.
I played the PC demo at Gadet Show Live on Thursday with a 3 screened eyefinity machine, was really good the graphics are certainly better on the pc. I also felt like many of you with the controls being clunky and slow however I am really thinking about pre ordering it.
