Gameplay footage today tend to be rigged to appear "fun/exciting/well developed" for that particular segment of the game (in order to generate hype), whilst the rest of the game have been neglected. One of the examples are Aliens Colonial Marines, if I would had followed the "is it fun? yes/no" then I would had bought A:CM, because, it looked fun (it really did when I first saw the early game-play footage of it).
You're misinterpreting. I'm not telling you to judge the game on base of a first-look reveal trailer, but rather just to not judge it on (or even take into account) its similarities to other games and similar irrelevant attributes. What matters is the game itself and its entertainment value and gameplay mechanics. If those are fun, play it; if they're not, don't.
TF2 has a selection of 9 classes for each team and there can be multiples of the same classes. Overwatch has a selection of 12 characters, and I think every player has to play a different class. Its more like heroes in DOTA I think. TF2 has a weapon based system with very few weapons that can 1 shot kill. This makes gives a death-match feel like quake. Overwatch is a lot more ability and skill based with very small selection of weapons. Judging from trailer they do crazy amount of damage, I'm afraid the game-play may feel like a hide and seek game where whoever sees the enemy first wins. I think this makes these games very different, Overwatch will definitely have a moba feel. It all depends on whether or not you think its a good thing. I will definitely give it a try but I prefer the fast paced, high skill ceiling game-play of TF2.
How exactly is it not that simple? [editline]9th November 2014[/editline] Genuinely. Explain it to me.
Well, Tribes: Ascend looks pretty fun to play, but I think many people would agree with me that there's a number of reasons you shouldn't play it.
Blizzard can't do anything original, They ripped off Dawn of War with Starcraft, they ripped off Torchlight with Diablo, they stole DOTA from Valve, now they steal TF2. They're like Garry but with AAA budgets
Will it be worth the weight?
Will it be worth the weight?
The joke is getting very old now.

[editline]9th November 2014[/editline] actually nvm. I mostly played during the beta but I don't know its current state at all
They didn't confirm nor deny hats. Hats confirmed.

Such a shame, really.
You think wrong
You are absolutely right, I did more re-search and caught on too late. Still I think the games are different enough and free class choices only makes it sound much better in my books. Still going to have a difference between ability based combat and weapon based combat.
Cool. now blizz can you fuck off and give us our dota2 skeleton king back?
regalia armor
There was a lot of cutscenes and prerendered non gameplay stuff in the gameplay trailer aside from a couple cool moves from characters, which showed off mechanics and not really gameplay. I need more actual gameplay to judge the game, otherwise I have a feeling its gonna be like Blink (great promo video with 0 gameplay, actual gameplay was rubbish)

They put out a video of a payload match with commentary. I'd post it if I wasn't on my phone.
I'd play it, plenty of people have attempted a half life rts in the past
So like Battlezone? I dig.
