ohhh that's what I was scratching my head over at maker faire.
But they announced 680 just last year.
Oh because the technology industry isn't the fastest moving industry literally ever or anything
I know dxtory is better than fraps, but I think my problems with recording might be connected to my dying motherboard.
No matter what program and settings I use, I either end up with an unplayable framerate, or a video file that's ~15 fps, and that's not good for anything.
Your hard drive is going to always be the bottleneck when you record gameplay
Don't record to the same drive that your game is installed on and most of your problems will go away
and i just got my 660 ti this last week. don't tell me the prices are going to drop right now

should've kept yourself informed. This has been announced for like a month now.
Isn't it that you need a decent HDD to record high quality 1080p videos with DxTory?

Sure, don't think you need the most expensive ones though. A good quality 7200 one is absolutely enough.

Well they're obviously releasing a graphics card every year so they're milking graphics cards like Apple and Samsung!!!
I use DXTory, since my HDD is a bit slow and small I compress on the fly instead of doing lossless recording.
I get a very tiny fps drop and absolutely no mouse lag at all.
Shadowplay sounds useful though.
um dude I don't know whether you've tried unregistered hypercam 2 but it's fucking baller
[editline]23rd May 2013[/editline]
Also just like all flagship nvidia GPUs the price of this is fucking mental; the best thing about the 700 series is that the 770 is basically just a heavily discounted 680, which incidentally will also plummet in price
Ah, the Runescape video nostalgia is coming back to me!
Guh, using the h264 codec right off the bat and compressing your video files. Excellent bullshit that makes me steer the fuck away from any "high performance no lag superior quality best ever" recording software. I don't care if you're fast if you ruin my footage, goddamit.
Why would I want to compress my RAW footage? I want to cut that shit up and then compress it, I don't want to cut up already compressed videos and compress them again, that's terrible, fuck you.
If only I got DXtory to work properly on my machine; MSIafterburner is nice and works without lagging at all, but every video codec and setting I try with it just fucks everything up and is very hit and miss all the time.
