Awesome, DayZ is such a unique title, such a piss off to play but also addicting.
have they removed mouse acceleration yet
have they removed mouse acceleration yet
Well the issue with that is that it would enable twitch aiming. It's more, "there is weight to your body".
Well the issue with that is that it would enable twitch aiming. It's more, "there is weight to your body".
I can turn my head in real life without it sliding around like my body's on a mini ice rink ffs
I can turn my head in real life without it sliding around like my body's on a mini ice rink ffs
I kind of like it tbh.
I kind of like it tbh.
I don't tbh. Feels sluggish and disorienting.
It fucking sucks at low FPS though. It makes 30fps seem like 10.
Get a better computer/lower the graphics settings then
I have a i5-4670k and a 7870. Sometimes it runs sluggish just because it can and it's completely not my fault. So the "get a better pc" thing isn't applicable when it comes to ArmA and it's related games.
I kind of like it tbh.
how can anyone ever like mouse acceleration it's like... playing an online shooter with vsync on i mean you can see the delay between your mouse moving and your screen changing

The issue with turning "mouse acceleration" off is that it would allow 360 insta-turns and remove any reason to not use a huge rifle in close quarters. Arma 'simulates' the momentum of a person turning or swinging their weapon around in a way that caps your maximum turn speed. Rocket himself said that he needed some time to think of an alternative to the current system because he doesnt want quake style turning.

I don't like the whole mouse-acceleration thing purely from a control perspective, but from a gameplay perspective I love it, because it adds so much more danger to any firefight. Seeing someone run across a field - without any acceleration from the mouse, killing said person would be very easy. Currently, it's more risky, because it's more difficult to hit at first or second try, and the person could turn, spot where the fire comes from and return it. It just heightens the inherent risk of any firefight for everyone, but maybe that's just me.
I always find it weird that PC developers add Mouse Acceleration. Same with Witcher 2.
They should make it so you have to work to turn the mouse acceleration off, so you boost your reaction ability, it slowly disables it
Well the issue with that is that it would enable twitch aiming.
i mean you can see the delay between your mouse moving and your screen changing
I remember playing csgo for the first time and had all the settings maxed and I couldn't figure out why I sucked so bad... I don't see why vsnc is even an option it makes it literally unplayable.

I don't know if this applies to DayZ, but in ARMA 2 and 3 you can get rid of almost all of the mouse lag by turning mouse smoothing off. I have no clue why it's still on by default, it feels awful.
should get twitch aiming within the free-aim area, but the usual ARMA body-turning resistance outside pretty sure it's already like that, but the deadzone stuff in DayZ is disabled
I can understand why acceleration is in the game but it makes everything feel sluggish and shitty.
swinging rifles around feels sluggish and shitty
I think that shouldnt be an option to change it, it is much more better when you know your opponent wont 360 mlg noscope you so you actually have a chance to kill
