I like how Turner channels (CN, TNT, TBS) stretch SD shows in HD feeds. It doesn't look like ass at all.

My TV automatically adjusts the volume differences so you don't get raped when the commercials kick in.
I don't even have a cable sub, saves me $50 a month I can spend on a videogame or similar.

I'm OK with this. Tuning your equipment to work to the best of it's capability is something you should always do, and not just with your TV. Even a $300 480P CRT can look great if it's set up properly, as mine is. Hell mine probably looks better than a lot of the HD TVs using absolutely terrible settings that people have already posted about.
