I think it could of been better if Nintendo hadn't casualized the game. I would love to have a modern PM game with a plot similar to TTYD.
Wait, they removed party members from this? Damn.
Wasn't there early concept where a CHAIN CHOMP was a partner, before I guess they removed partners completely?

i'm more upset that it doesn't have anything in the way of plot. the writing is the real reason to play PM games
It's sad how this turned out. All I wanted was partners, chapters, basically a TTYD 2 This could've been the game that made me buy a 3DS, but now I guess I won't be getting one after all. Edit: Actually, I forgot about Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
I actually preferred Super Paper Mario over the older ones. Mainly because I don't like that turn based style of gameplay, but it still had the great plot and writing of the older ones.
I hope they continue Super Paper Mario alongside the normal rpg paper marios, that game was amazing.
Don't let the fact that it's different from previous Paper Marios stop you from checking this game out; from what I've played it's pretty good in its own right, and certainly one of the better games on 3DS. I can't speak for the whole game since I'm only just nearing the end of world 2, but I've been crawling every nook and cranny of this game, so my progression has been slow. As far as I've played, it's been good. It's certainly not comparable to Thousand-Year Door, but as a handheld experience it's engaging and funny. If you're looking for more good 3DS games, definitely pick this up. The writing itself is still really funny; there have been several times in the game so far where I couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Nintendo has a bad habit of changing what doesn't need to be changed and keeping the same what should have changed lately.
