It stops being the opinion of a bunch of neckbeards on /v/ and Something Awful when CNN and BBC report on it. Not to mention that "how to share Playstation 4 games" that went viral and got 11 million views within 24 hours.
Yeah this shits serious, it used to not be a big deal when it first started, but now its rolled to epic international importance, everyone knows the One sucks, and that's where we are now.
Sometimes I think facepunch forgets there is a world outside the internet. Just because the internet gang of kids trying to fit in and follow the crowd decide that the xbox one is shit, doesn't mean it will fail and that no one will buy it. The console will sell fine it may have a slow start but it will be adopted in the future. Whether you guys believe it or not their are people out their that think logically and that maybe just maybe microsoft has a plan in place on why they would implement these features. Why don't we just wait a few years then come back about talking how shit the xbox one is.
...Wha? Who says anything about the internet gang of kids trying to fit in and follow? I don't think you know exactly why people don't like what Microsoft has been doing with the Xbox One. What kind of plan comes from completely fucking up your own product, with the things that not only consumers despise, devs also look at in an odd, unapproving way? It's like saying "Oh hey, this guy abducted us, that doesn't sounds too good, but I have faith in him. Oh now he's restraining us to a bed, weird, but he's probably gonna do something good with that dirty knife. Oh, now he's harvesting our organs, maybe he has a plan to make them better and put them back in after he's done." This isn't about "lol xbox suck cool kids get ps4". This is about the xbox sucking because it has very bad stuff attached to it. The only good thing that could come out of it would be having the NSA spying through it and ACTUALLY catching terrorist groups that were using FPS games as training, and not only that sounds farfetched and ridiculous, if it was actually true, it would still be a severe breach of privacy, which you are already expecting to have when you buy an Xbox One. (assuming you are inside the "Live Ring" or have internet to actually use your console...) (oh, and I forgot to mention how you don't get a metric fuck ton of exclusives which sell the console on their own)

A: It crashes and burns harder than the fucking hindenburg. B: It takes a few years, but the console gains momentum much like the PS3 did. Honestly, either option is fine and dandy to me. Sony is offering a MUCH better deal out of the box than microsoft is for the moment, so I'm sticking with PS4. I don't want to have a glossy fucking paperweight when my internet goes out for days at a time.
*sigh* Why do you people care about what other people do with their money? Honestly. Let him buy what he wants, he has that freedom after all. It's not about the consoles it's about the games.
because every sale encourages the shit practices msoft puts into place, as well as serves as a beacon for others to buy from because of buyers remorse not kicking in
Well you may not be aware of this, but some people like what Microsoft does and want to support them. It doesn't make them wrong.

Freedom of opinion goes both ways.
