Perhaps ID already had the idea of a new Quake and then Overwatch came along and they changed it to Class based and pitched the idea to Bethesda? Then they got approved and went for it and announced its existence at E3. Who knows?
lol You just said that it was Bethesda cashing in on the fad and not id. Maybe you should stop pointing fingers at people what with how much of an entitled brat you are.
Also, remember when everyone was saying that Overwatch was cashing in on TF2 when it was first annouced? I know, sounds ridiculous doesn't it?
Correct me if im wrong but wasnt the most popular mod ever released for Quake a class based shooter.
Not sure how many have heard of it, what was it called, Team Fortress?

Yeah and the most popular mod for Half-Life 1 was CounterStrike, doesn't mean HL2 is also CounterStrike

Judging by what it looks like it seems dumb to compare it to Overwatch, it seems more like Quakebreakers.

Ehm, do you live in the same timeline as I? I've never heard of any game recently titled 'breakers'.

If you ever played Rune Quake or QWTF, that's probably a good indicator of how it'll feel.
Rune Quake is basically Quake 1 multiplayer with 50 different special abilities, or runes, that can be activated, and then QWTF is the original Team Fortress.
As long as they don't change the physics, should still be good.

Honestly looks like an Unreal Tournament clone with a anti-gravity gimmick.
From what I've heard people who testplayed thought it was average at best. Also Nexon is associated with the game title.
Guess it's another free FPS though for those who like that with a gimmick.

Dude Lawbreakers. I'm assuming Quake Champions isn't going to be objective based or have roles like healer or tank, which makes it a lot more like Lawbreakers than Overwatch if we want to start drawing comparisons.

Game itself doesn't look super interesting except i love how that grapple looks. I always wanted a first person spiderman-type grapple, there was a mod for quake that did that and i always found it more interesting than the standard CTF "pull to point" grapple
actually i hope they have a grapple like that in the new Quake now.
