But Metro is some occasional guilty fun.
Operation Metor 64 player conquest practically gave me my mortar And my Javelin And my SOFLAM And my MAV
Because a close-quarters map totally isn't Battlefield as much as a large map is.
Not if you've ever played a Battlefield game in your life Hell, even the Bad Company series didn't have as tiny corridor maps as Metro and Seine Crossing and etc.
Not if you've ever played a Battlefield game in your life Hell, even the Bad Company series didn't have as tiny corridor maps as Metro and Seine Crossing and etc.
So they included more of a type of map you didn't like. Don't play those maps and get the hell over it. They're still Battlefield.
I'm okay with the DLC's continuing in June. As long as they add some more teamwork elements into the game.
With team work you could actually dominate the games. Usually there is no team work on either side, and the side with less newbies and clueless players gets the edge over the whole round of say.. CQ64.
I'm not sure what to make of the CQC map pack, so far they just don't work with 64 players. They also end up as stupid shitty spamfests, spamfests with destructable cover are no fun at all. i'll wait and see what they come up with.
So they included more of a type of map you didn't like. Don't play those maps and get the hell over it. They just made it obvious to everyone in their advertising that they're trying to bring in CoD players and that's why these maps are in the game.

So what if they are trying something new and reaching out to a different audience. Who the hell cares if cod players comes along or people from any other game. It's not like we are at war with cod it is just another shooter you don't like. Not everyone that plays that game is a trolling 12 year old.
It really depends on the DLC, this looks like good DLC not that I will buy it or anything, but COD makes 1-map pack DLC for like $15? shits insane
It's actually 3 maps and 2 more spec ops missions.
The difference is that Special Forces was an entirely new concept and came with (6?) maps and loads of new weapons and gadgets. Euroforce gave an entirely new Faction, and ok Armoured Fury was a bit lacking in the content department but still, in the final patch they gave away both the booster packs free. B2K gave 4 new maps, a few new weapons and a few vehicles. People have let EA abuse their customers in just about every way. The only time the community stamped their feet down was when the pre-order weapon pack was announced. Don't get me wrong, BF3 is a fun game, but the way EA tries to get money out of us at every turn sickens me.
Yes, and making maps/content for BF2 was likely a lot easier than it is for BF3 (models/textures have a lot more detail, models need support for destruction, there's more things to consider when balancing the maps due to their much more dynamic nature, etc...); not to mention special forces was like twice the price of BTK. While I would love to see a new faction or two, you have to remember that's a lot of work; at minimum, each new faction would need 4 new player models (and however many skins there are to go along with), 5 new weapons (side arm and primaries), 9 new vehicles (provided they got a vehicle for every vehicle of the other factions, also don't forget the perks that have visual elements), not to mention the maps for them to be on. I'm not saying they couldn't do it, but I can understand why they don't add more factions. I'm optimistic that the close quarters maps won't be a repeat of Metro; just because there's enclosed spaces doesn't mean there has to be choke points and meat grinders. If enough points of attack are offered, and the maps are dynamic (with destruction), then I could easily see them being rather good. Hopefully one of the close quarters maps will be on an aircraft carrier or similar (military base, etc...), Iron Gator was an amazing idea.
The expansions for BF2 were terrible, so we'll see what happens here. [editline]7th March 2012[/editline] Not the first expansion (the special operations-y one), but the ones after that.
Am i the only one getting tired by all these DLC crap?
grrr additional content developed after the release of a game already packed with hours and hours and days and days of content really grinds my gears
So you guys complain about CoD DLC, but love BF3 DLC?
Play CQB on squad deathmatch for quick fun. It adds the thing I liked about CoD, that being I can jump in and just kill a few people before leaving to go somewhere if I felt like it, covering all bases as later on I may return for some 64 player conquest.
Maybe we should actually wait for the DLC to be released before we all start saying how horrible it is.
I only got B2K because DICE randomly gave out free copies of that and BF3 at Twitter on Christmas. I hope the maps are as good as the older games. Most of the original BF3 maps are terrible. They should port over some more BF2 maps and some BC2 ones. [editline]7th March 2012[/editline]
So you guys complain about CoD DLC, but love BF3 DLC?
but BF3 DLC adds weapons so CoD DLC is 100% bad.
Some maps in America would be interesting. Kind of like Armored Fury in BF2.
So you guys complain about CoD DLC, but love BF3 DLC?
That might have something to do with that BF3 DLC is far bigger than CoD DLC and is actually worth the price tag.
I don't understand the people commenting on bf3's forums. They are all saying how much they hate them for making a close quarters map and not fixing the game. Personally I need they need to grow up and think. They have only announced about this and they are far apart I can imagine they will fix the game before these are out. Just because they want to make a close quarters map does not mean it is cod I really don't understand these people. It is fun no mater what as long as you are on a server that has rules against the explosives spam. They are going to make a huge map for vehicles and that confuses me even more why people are complaining that sounds really fun. And to top it all off we don't even know what the end game is yet. Edit ------- The guy who posted above me is an example of people complaining over nothing.
Servers with arbitrary rules are stupid as fuck, but you should just avoid the battlelog forums they're GameFAQs quality.
So you guys complain about CoD DLC, but love BF3 DLC?
Welcome to Facepunch. I won't buy any of this unless it comes with enough content to justify the purchase. I've never bought DLC and I don't plan on starting with BF3.
Uhhh, but what about the platform you designed it on?
Dice stopped focusing on the PC version about half-way through development.
Sorry for expecting Battlefield maps in a Battlefield DLC I wouldn't be so pissy about it if they hadn't gipped us by using CoD maps for half the maps in the actual, vanilla game.
Not even close..... [editline]7th March 2012[/editline]
So you guys complain about CoD DLC, but love BF3 DLC?
COD DLC is 5 maps or less, and BF DLC is 4 maps + 10 weapons. The weapons alone are IMO totally worth it. The CoD DLC maps are NOT worth it unless they are like 5€ for all of them.
Don't forget the vehicles
I'm excited for this, Dice does a good job with DLC.
I want Dinosaur mode. Why hasn't this happened yet??
I duno about you guys, but I think Metro is one of my favorite maps in BF3. It's probably because I get a fuckton of points when I'm on the right team. But I think BF3 has some really great close quarter stuff
Slightly off-topic but a BF2142 re-make or sequel on Frostbite 2 would be fucking awesome.
I duno about you guys, but I think Metro is one of my favorite maps in BF3. I prefer the close quarters stuff.
I like almost all the maps, Metro included. Only a few annoy me.
Same price as last time right? Right?
I hope Close Quarters actually have well designed maps.I don't care about the size of the map.If its well designed I want it. [editline]8th March 2012[/editline]
I want Dinosaur mode. Why hasn't this happened yet??
End Game =Dinosaur Apocalyspe+2143
