Gah, AVA's not availabale in my region. The Hell? [editline]15th June 2011[/editline] http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=851573
I tried out Spiral Knights, it was okay but I quickly became bored of it. It's a matter of taste I suppose.
For people with AVA unavailable in their region, can you not just download it from the developer's site like you had to before it was on Steam?
I hope they add Runes of Magic to steam.
Great game, I'd play it but there's one thing that keeps me from playing it. When you die in PvP you have a chance to lose an item in your inventory... unless you use the cash shop and buy a ton of things to make each item not do that
Spiral Knights is pretty fun but it boils down to the same stuff pretty much. Go into a dungeon or w/e, kill stuff, repeat. And when you run out of energy you either buy more or that's it. Downloading AVA now, gonna try the ones I don't have minus Forsaken World because it seems like another generic MMO.
For those who haven't tried AVA yet, or tried it pre-Steam, you still need an ijji account to actually play it. I used my old account and it fired right up.

When you go to pay for something with the Steam wallet, you can select to pay for it by adding only the necessary amount to make the purchase.

As a half year subscriber, I can definitely recommend Champions Online. Free2Play people are only limited by having no free power choice, though you can choose your own arch-type and between 2 powers at certain levels. And as someone else said, change your power's color. Even though there are costume pieces that are off limits, you still get a literal boatload of them for incredible customization for nothing. You can also unlock dozens of other pieces through the game itself, you're not limited by that in any way. In fact, no content apart from the Adventure packs is limited or gimped for anyone in any way. And even that's a moot point, as they've stepped over from Adventure Packs to Comic series, which is free for everyone. You can level to 40 (cap) without problem, you can obtain any in-game gear there is, and participate in anything everyone else can. Best of all, anything in the C-store only contains cosmetic or fluff items. Nothing that impacts gameplay or gives players an edge over others. For a F2P model, I'm finding that you get a lot more for free than other games with similar models.

Everything is derived from your powers and stats, not cosmetic stuff.
Odd. Maybe its a regional thing then, because I bought an item in TF2 earlier today and it had one.
Has to be above 5 euro/quid/ameribucks
Spiral Knights is a decent game, but it's no where near free to play. By the time you actually get into the game your energy is gone (IE. What you use to go to dungeons, you know, to actually play the game) and it drains every time you go deeper. You also don't get a lot if you wait for your supply to increase. You're forced to either buy energy with real money or waste all your ingame money on it.
Fyi you can buy energy from other players with crowns .
I want Fallen Earth to get added to the list. Looks really nice even though no one ever talks about it.
I used to play AVA on the korean version years ago when it wasn't on ijji
The APB team is apparently talking with Valve about adding it to this as well.
That reminds me, I was at Target, and saw them selling it for $49.99.
I don't really understand spiral knights yet, but why is it so laggy in the arcade?
Spiral Knights looks fun as shit. Global Agenda is, but I got bored of being Engineer (I like a playstyle right inbetween Assault and Engineer) I'll try AVA and what about Forsaken World? It looks like the same coochie coo Korean F2P bullshit.
Champions is fun for a bit. Global Agenda is pretty awesome
Forsaken world isn't grindy you pretentious jeeerks. You follow a main quest for 90% of the time you play and when you're not doing quests you're getting 1 - 4 levels in the daily golden temple dungeon. Also open PVP after level 30 is good times. And all the skills are extremely visually appealing, I also hit level 30 in two days.
I'll check the game out!
I get boner when I shit (User was banned for this post ("Stupid and pointless reply. You need to stop now." - Swebonny))
Well thank you Swebonny, I was just being friendly to tell you my biggest secret. Also... There's a boner in my ass (User was permabanned for this post ("You're never going to learn apparently." - Seiteki))

But yeah, shits a lot of grinding.
