Mouse acceleration, sensitivity, and lag issues. Bioshock, Mirror's Edge, Borderlands, etc. all had those issues when I played them.
Weird, never add any problem in any of those game.
Never liked Unreal Engine..
UE is pretty damn good
Mouse acceleration, sensitivity, and lag issues. Bioshock, Mirror's Edge, Borderlands, etc. all had those issues when I played them.
bioshock is ue 2.5 lole same engine that runs under uh killing floor
sometimes lower graphical settings for meshes turn off foliage and misc debris and that helps identify people lower texture settings - less noise, more silhouette = easier identification lower resolution - idk but according to my friend it helps aiming but that's only tangential to the point, which is that visually overloading a player doesn't bode well for twitch shooters - i.e. it's much easier to navigate and bunnyhop and also look out for enemies around this: than this:
But I think it's not due to clutter. I think it's because you need to set up artificial rules in environments that are more realistic looking. You can give the player the "real world" view but you can't give him the experience and that's why playing in a more real gameworld you have to think about more boundaries than in a very abstract level and that's why it's harder.
As a developer, I'm going crazy for this
ut99 was amazing, ut2004 was great, ut3 was gears of warized shitty and they downgraded everything except vehicles and graphics they'll NEED the original creators or it'll be shit on
Digital Extremes have their hands full with warframe, really doubt they have the logistical means to return back to UT anymore.
UE is pretty damn good
Its good, but it has this knack to plastic everything, skin texture rarely looks like skin in UE engines.
Hopefully it doesn't crash every 30 seconds or so.
Hopefully it doesn't crash every 30 seconds or so.
Why would it? Do you have problems with UE games crashing?
Its good, but it has this knack to plastic everything, skin texture rarely looks like skin in UE engines.
In what engine does skin actually look like skin though? Skin is such a material that is really damn hard to get right, especially in realtime.
In what engine does skin actually look like skin though? Skin is such a material that is really damn hard to get right, especially in realtime.
Cryengine 3 got it pretty good.
the team im working with has access to UE4, its rendering is awesome but i dont think its kind of ready yet for game development, mainly becouse the current game uses UE3 its pretty deep in development and UE4 is lacking some important features or well they havent been implemented yet
Cryengine 3 got it pretty good.
Indeed, and that is also probably the only one.
I was never a fan of old school, rocket-propelled twitch shooters, for the sole reason that I am shit at them. I honestly want the market to stay similar to where it is, just less stagnant.
In what engine does skin actually look like skin though? OR sometimes switching the two.
I just have issues with Unreal Engine just making things waaaay to plastic or metallic looking. OR sometimes switching the two.
Be angry at lazy developers, not unreal. It is easy enough to reduce shine on shaders in unreal.
Yes; we need a UT4 to bring back proper shooters.
It'll be garbage unless its a pc-centric release, consoles and shooters with depth don't mix.

I'll be impressed with UE when the mouse movement isn't the shittiest in the world.
Man I wish I could learn to use Unreal editor.
I'll be impressed with UE when the mouse movement isn't the shittiest in the world.
proper anti-aliasing would be great too
proper anti-aliasing would be great too
Deferred rendering cannot do "old proper" antialiasing.
Deferred rendering cannot do "old proper" antialiasing.
MSAA can be deferred regardless, SMAA is the future all hail SMAA
call of duty except everyone is dog
call of dogs
the "ue3 is plastic" shit is so ridicilous it boggles me how people still say it depends on the dev. kojima, for example, has had great engines running under all his games, and yet he manages to use bluray for this aesthetics are not all about the foundation, the aesthetics are in the hands of the developer look at valve and portal 2 - it was the breaking point where you were expecting source to show it's age developers need to work the magic, buying cryengine 3 won't make your video game's looks appealing instantly in fact, crysis 3 was pretty bland
ut99 was amazing, ut2004 was great, ut3 was gears of warized shitty and they downgraded everything except vehicles and graphics they'll NEED the original creators or it'll be shit on
They should just remake 2004 in UE4
They should just remake 2004 in UE4
ut99 and ut2004 mixed together would be GOTY nomination material if done correctly.
If anyone can resurrect Unreal Tournament, it would be Digital Extremes. It would probably have to be free to play for it to survive, and would happen long after they're done with Warframe, which is going to take a very long time.
Why would it? Do you have problems with UE games crashing?
Working in UDK is a headache-inducing experience.
Let's start a team, a game with dogs or something.
Do you have any idea how awesome that could be? Like, a Wolf combat game where you fight over territories in third person, sharking around other players and trying to tear apart their undefended parts? Like a mix between Battlefield's Conquest, Snake, and Chivalry.
developers need to work the magic, buying cryengine 3 won't make your video game's looks appealing instantly in fact, crysis 3 was pretty bland
Yeah but it and Ryse has the best skin I've ever seen. I just hope UE4 has something over UE3's sheeeit texture filtering. It doesn't look like it does yet :s
