Played it for a couple hours last night. Seems ok so far, will update as I get further in.
Nice, loved the original; just not its combat. Was looking forward to playing this in late July so this is a pleasant surprise to me. Also its NOT on steam at the moment, you have to download the client from their website.
someone inform me what the difference is. i was always intrigued by Secret World but the combat just looked like such fucking ass. character customization was no winner either.
For anyone interested, here's a really good Ross Scott video on the original:

I'd say the combat is now decent enough to get through it see the different locations and quests since those are by far the most interesting parts of the game.
alright, ill look into it. thx.
Also it's free so you're not exactly losing anything by trying it out.
Their account recovery system is the worst. Haven't touched the game in years and you have to open a support ticket to recover your username :(
Is there any video of the new combat system? Heard it's alot better in this new version.
Just recently started playing TSW and I'm more than a little annoyed that I'm going to have to do all the things I've just done all over again. Not sure why they couldn't have just given everyone a character reset and kept things going

It'd be really hard to convert ALL of your previous work into anything tangible in the new systems.

I don't know if I've ever actually heard of an MMO trying to do it, it's a bit nuts. I have 9 hours in the game so far, and while that's not much for an MMO, that's an entire singleplayer game worth of playtime. The people who have put hundreds of hours in are probably pretty angry, though that is just a guess to be fair.
Anarchy online Pls Funcom it's your only good game Pls remake
At least if you had an existing TSW account you can merge/convert it to carry over some cosmetics and unlock all weapons. I hope unlock all weapons means you bypass having grind or pay to unlock new skill sets as what they said made it sound as such.
