6 versions of the series came to PC and then stopped? Why on earth would that even make sense?
Where can I get that?
It isn't 100% yet, but they got mostly everything that isn't missions in.

This is old news though, why make an article about something found a long time ago?

To make money.
We've known there was a PC version in the works since.. a few days after release or so?
Nothing new.
This isn't old news to me.

The build file mentioned in the article was found in September.
[editline]18th January 2014[/editline]
The Build file mentions that snapmatic photos are saved to a media folder, hopefully that means it saves high-res copies of the pictures you take with your cell phone.
Can we get gta vice city 2 instead of V please?
GTA V was fucking epic, while i'd love to see the eventual return of the Vice, why would you want it instead?

Why are you arguing something that's obviously coming to the PC with this much evidence?
Why is everyone so worried about a PC version? Just because you didnt get RDR doesn't mean R* stopped supporting PC.
I'd like Miami.
Why is everyone so worried about a PC version? Just because you didnt get RDR doesn't mean R* stopped supporting PC.
Especially since the whole reason why RDR didn't come to PC was because the game was basically held together with baling wire and duct tape, and that in order to bring the game to PC they'd have to basically re-write half the game since they could barely get it working on the Xbox and PS3 without crashing.

That and they lost the source code.
As you can see here we have some inside info from actual rockstar employees who know for a fact that it will come to PC
Holy shit you are dumb
i think the good thing about the PC version not being released yet is that i would've been disappointed
with my purchase now that i've seen what the gameplay is like.
i'll probably hold off on buying the PC version until a sale or something.
The build file mentioned in the article was found in September.
I know, that's what I mean.
I distinctly remember seeing an exact article about this same file and references months ago. I'm just curious why we're getting an article now about something found months ago.

you do know that first post you quoted, is actually 100% right? literally days after the game came out people looked into the game's files and code and found build information for PC and PS4.
are you trying to act stupid, or does it just come naturally?

There is no PS4 build info in the file.
I like how Facepunch was totally up in arms at the initial lack of a PC version now everyone's like "Yeah no shit theres a PC version we knew all long"

No, people were complaining that the PC version wasnt being a launch release.
Theres a difference.
There is no PS4 build info in the file.
Wrong.
Wrong.
I just searched the PS4 code name and variations on Playstation 4. there were no results in the build file.
I'm talking about the build.xml file on the game disc.
There are references to the PS4 code name in other files, but none in the build.xml file.
Meaning as of August 2013 they were not working on a PS4 build.
I'm not saying they're not working on one, I'm saying they were not at at the time.
Im certain i remember it referring to the old name for the PS4 before it was announced.
The uh...
Started with an "O".

I searched for Orbis. It is referenced in config files, not the build.xml file which is what I was referring to.
[editline]19th January 2014[/editline]
in gameconfig.xml there is a section for 'Orbis' but there are only 2 variables in it. the other consoles, PC, PS3, 360 have more.
ontop of that, the conif has sections for "PC Override, 360 Override and PS3 Override" no section for Orbis Override.
I'd like Miami.
What's in Miami?
I hear everyone saying that VI should be in Vice City, but other than the cleverness of the title I don't see a reason why. I can't think of anything interesting about modern Miami. Vice City's setting was only unique and gripping because there's been an established stereotype of crack-fueled Miami in the 80s since it was still true, and it built on that. If it had been set in Miami in 2002, there would be hardly any criminal empires or drug trading. Just a bunch of fat people in minivans and chain stores.
Modern Miami is stylistically identical to modern LA if not even less interesting and diverse, with nothing but palm trees, beaches and strip malls. Except maybe the Everglades, but that would just be a bigger version of the wetlands outside of Fort Zancudo.
I feel like the only person who doesn't want Vice City 2.
No, you write the code on the PC, and you also compile the code on the PC. The code is then tested on the devkit.
That doesn't mean the code they're writing can actually be ran on the PC, because it can't.
Not only is there a massive difference between x86 and PowerPC based code, with consoles you program more directly for the hardware, without having to worry about, for example, APIs.
Hence what I said, it's a link between the two. The devkit is for testing, but with Rockstar it's irrelevant because they cross compile everything anyway. I don't recall saying "oh it runs on the PC because it's programmed on a PC" because that's dumb, however it's pretty likely Rockstar build the game and take screenshots on a PC because their engine is cross compiled and the game art, scripts etc. are platform agnostic.
Who said it has to be modern miami
as long as it isn't the 80's again. maybe the '50s or the '90s but god not another '80s miami game, shit's overdone

The screenshots don't even have to be taken on any specific platform. Any decent engine supports rendering stills.
I reckon that the PC version will release at the same time as the Xbone and PS4 versions.
