Yeah, but now you have to deal with it not being on Steam
Well that's hardly a problem. I had the non-steam version of GTA IV too and it never bothered me. You can still get the overlay to work if you really want to, drawbacks are pretty minimal. Plus I just like physical boxes, GTA IV and LCS even came with posters. And in a few years I can get the steam key from a sale for almost nothing if I really want it for some reason.
You don't know yet. What if they encrypt the game files to stop modders from breaking GTA Online? You wouldn't know until after release. And that's just one example. I have no idea of all the things that could be broken, only Rockstar knows for now. And for what are you taking the risk? A free 5$ game and 1,000,000$ in ingame cash (SP by the way; 300,000$ in MP) which you could just get by using cheats.
Not everyone wants GTAV on PC just for modding; some people haven't even played it yet for one reason or another. Beyond that, pre-ordering isn't just about getting free stuff, there's also the factor of being able to preload the game, which given how big the download size will be with the 65GB installed requirement, is an important factor for some. Personally, I don't see the point in preordering this far away from release, but I probably will whenever they enable preloading.
Eh I am having a feeling this is going to be a complete trainwreck port.
You have no idea what the port is like, just look at GTA IV on release, gee.
just look at Max Payne 3 at release, gee
What the hell Why the fuck is it so expensive? Fuck that shit
70 dollars...
90$, good job wow motherfucking pieces of shit, they put the game on 78€ for us (slovenia)
Don't wanna be an ass, but you gotta also blame the recent VAT prices gauging (+15%). So yeah, no wonders it isn't 60 bux as those expensive pre-orders were :v:
Game isn't region locked. Except for Germany.
Which is weird considering that it was released uncensored on consoles with an 18+ rating. [editline]17th January 2015[/editline] Oh it is because GTA San Andreas is censored how ironic
There's no guarantee that this port won't be complete broken shit.

Is it just me, or is her hand abnormally small?
Rockstars "special" details on promotional material. Just like how the blonde makes a selfie of herself on a beach, without a mirror or the GTA 4 girl with six fingers.
Exactly; so it's hit and miss.
It was developed on its own branch and developed by the same team that worked on the MP3 port. Plus, reports confirmed the game constantly runs at 60fps and the system requirements are pretty good for how it looks. There's no way they'll repeat the same mistakes as with GTA IV
I wouldn't pay full price for it.
This is one of the games where a full price purchase is totally worth it. You get a great singleplayer experience and tons of good gameplay, furthermore the multiplayer is a blast with friends even if it has some flaws. The only question to ask is if the pc version will be good.
Isn't the stop preorder 'movement' about repealing bullshit promotions, broken promises, worthless DLC and bugs? Rockstar are none of these things.
Actually it's more about not paying for something you don't know about, the sheer concept of paying in advance for something you dont get right away, on a digital platform where supply isn't limited. Also you've got a bad idea of rockstar :v:

Also you've got a bad idea of rockstar :v:
Especially since you can't return it on release if it happens to be cow poop. Rockstar released GTA IV for PC and it was awful, full of bugs and a lot of issues. It got patched eventually but on release it was bad. I don't get why people have so much blind trust in Rockstar. Sure they make good games... for consoles. Most of their PC ports are at the very least questionable. Even MP3 had plenty of issues, it ran great but there were quite a lot of weird nonsense during installation where you'd have to move folders around and what not in some cases. I think they later patched that too but on release it wasn't shining. I am most definitely not dropping 60 Euro on a product when I know nothing about it's PC version or how it will perform. But then again I am poor so my buyers remorse is a lot stronger.
Yeah, R* generally have very good programers, there's no doubt about that. Their design choices however are questionable.

It can still be completely broken on release regardless.
To those who have it on console: Exactly how easy is it to earn that amount of money in a relatively short time? (In SP and MP respectively)
Won't there be mods, cheats, etc. to get free money in single player anyway?
Won't there be mods, cheats, etc. to get free money in single player anyway?
In SP sure but that's not the focus.
€60 , "Please pirate me"
€60 , "Please pirate me"
Lets see you pirate 65gb on release day torrents.
Rockstar released GTA IV for PC and it was awful, full of bugs and a lot of issues. It got patched eventually
Nope, it's still shit. If I can run Saints Row 2 at full settings and have it never skip a frame, but I can't drive a car at high speeds in a game that came out a few months before it, it's pretty fucking bad. The only time that game runs well is when you go into a tunnel.
120 BGN here. I won't have enough after I upgrade my PC. Fuck.
€60 , "Please pirate me"
I'm sure you pirate every other triple-A game too, then.
Lets see you pirate 65gb on release day torrents.
Averagely, I guess?

I can't believe they manage to work so hard to release a PC version and still be late on heists. I love Rockstar but I'm sick of them pulling this shit. They did this in Red Dead. Online was great but they were so slow with what they promised for. Their best features are integrated years after release.
Isn't the stop preorder 'movement' about repealing bullshit promotions, broken promises, worthless DLC and bugs? Rockstar are none of these things.
*cough* hiests *cough* [editline]17th January 2015[/editline]
I'm sure you pirate every other triple-A game too, then.
The difference is that this triple A game will have been out for 1.5 years by the time he can play it. Not advocating piracy, I'm just saying that it was released in 2013. Most games drop by 25% after that long. [editline]17th January 2015[/editline] oh automerge, I hate you.
It saddens me that rockstar are so fucking thirsty for money.
Lets see you pirate 65gb on release day torrents.
Joke's on you, I bet it will be faster than steam's shitty servers.
Nope, it's still shit. I reinstalled SR2 a few months back but it feels like there's a fps cap of 20. Rarely it goes higher. So choppy.
