Sucks that the retail release won't activate on Steam, I want steam integration and not have to download 65 gbs
The difference is that this triple A game will have been out for 1.5 years by the time he can play it. Not advocating piracy, I'm just saying that it was released in 2013. Most games drop by 25% after that long.
So basically "Oh man this huge game that everyone wants has been out for awhile on other platforms, I'm sure it'll be cheaper on mine when it get's here!" I mean I don't know why anybody expected less. It was $60 on last gen, $60 on current gen, and it's still going to be $60 on PC. I've had $60 sitting in my Steam wallet for a month because I figured that's how much it was going to be anyway.
Going to wait if the port is any good because throwing my money at it. I know the game itself is good, but considering GTA IV was far from a good port I'll hold it until I get to see what this one's got.

Pricing aside, it's two months away after constant schedule slippage involving the specs and details, Rockstar's porting jobs are 50/50 in regards to PC and the gap between minimum spec and recommended spec has me worried. And yet because it's Grand Theft Auto on PC it shot near-immediately to the top pre-orders and sales on Steam at the moment. Even worse considering a number of these people may not be able to digitally download it due to being approximately 65 gigs according to the specs once more. It's a gigantic gamble on quality assurance mixed with people being blinded by the success and popularity to jump straight on the pre-order wagon again. The game's proven itself, but this port hasn't.

I also understand why it is full price and am going to pay £40 for it.
$75 USD where I am. New Zealand steam uses US dollars to deal with games for some stupid reason. Converted to NZD, that's $96. Almost $100. Cool.
Lets see you pirate 65gb on release day torrents.
Torrents, unlike Downloads, are a lot easier to download because they are peer2peer. Pretty much any person who starts download contributes his speed as well, no matter how miniscule it is. Problem would occur only if someone stopped seeding past certain percentage, for example if the main seed uploaded 89% of the game, everyone would download 89% and remain stuck there.
Lets see you pirate 65gb on release day torrents.
I've already pre-ordered but with private trackers that's not so far-fetched.
99% of PC games usually released are 40-50 euro's, yet Rockstar feels like it can ask 60 euro's for a game that's been out on consoles for almost two years? I think not.

I mean that seems fair Then again GTA5 is a game where people would pay $120 for it (And are)
Not everyone wants GTAV on PC just for modding; some people haven't even played it yet for one reason or another.
Some people haven't played it because of one sole reason - it's not bloody out yet! [editline]18th January 2015[/editline]
Converted to NZD, that's $96. dont. you can still buy it after its looked over.
Lets see you pirate 65gb on release day torrents.
Welcome to usenet

I mean hell, I preordered the PS3 version and I preordered the PC one a few days ago, and I'm not one to buy triple-A games at full price. The whole "with this promo code you got from buying the game on PS3/XB360 you can pay $10 and get it on PS4/XBone on digital download" was the one thing CoD: Ghosts got right. Unfortunately, I don't want a second copy of that game :v:
Should be $50 with all the delaying and shit they did.
Managed to get the steam version for 18 cs go keys which is about 38 eur. Hell yes.
I'm pre-ordering because I loved the game on PS3 and want it on PC too fuck yall.
I'd rather pay 50€ to be honest but if the game will be very good on PC then sure why not pay 60€.
Should be $50 with all the delaying and shit they did.
yeah they should've just released it when it's not ready
Bought it anyway, because what the hell.
Do you know how torrents work? More people downloading from a torrent generally makes the download go faster.
At least Steam has pre-loading for it. Well, it will anyway.
Do you know how torrents work? More people downloading from a torrent generally makes the download go faster.
Doesn't matter. A crack won't come in the first day. I'd guess 3 days if Rockstar didn't put any DRM effort on it at all. Also no GTAO which is half the point of the game.

I mean it's not like it'll be like GTAIV where GFWL adds an extra layer of fuck you to the mix.

Why Pre-order when you can just wait until PC port reviews arrive. It could be disaster.
$75 USD where I am. New Zealand steam uses US dollars to deal with games for some stupid reason. Converted to NZD, that's $96. Almost $100.
Why Pre-order when you can just wait until PC port reviews arrive. It could be disaster.
Because I already intend to buy it in the future anyway and this way I'll be able to play it release day if it's not shit? Also the free copy of San Andreas and the tiny GTA$ boost doesn't hurt. [editline]19th January 2015[/editline] Also I already had $60.01 in my Steam wallet ready to go and it's not like I can get it out of there to go spend on real life shit so I might as well spend it on games

I bet someone will make their own MP like they did with SAMP and IV-MP. And since it will probably have no protection, pirates will probably use that as an alternative.
