This takes machinia-filming to a whole new level...now I hope I had Kinect...
get some good VR googles then my dream of being a giant to crush people as Godzilla will be acomplished
Gives me an idea. Since you can of course attach stuff to ragdolls, couldn't you attach a camera to a ragdoll's face and essentially control it in first person mode?
Swinging bricks around looks like fun.
It makes me hope there will be a verbal 'Grab' command, where the player's hand will attach to whatever it is touching, and be able to move and manipulate it freely.
what if you phys gun your own kinnect player physception
time to dust off the kinect I haven't used in two years
The article is written absolutely abysmally. Did a freaking twelve-year-old write it? No, one couldn't have, because a damn twelve-year-old can proofread better than that. With that being said, neat.
This is gonna be so awesome for Machinima! EDIT: Just had an idea, would it be possible to use somethign like this to pose ragdolls? I mean, you'd pose in front of the Kinect, and then freeze the ragdoll in the pose you just took. That would make posing a hell of a lot faster.
Gives me an idea. Since you can of course attach stuff to ragdolls, couldn't you attach a camera to a ragdoll's face and essentially control it in first person mode?
I was thinking the same, but how would you go about movement around the map?
I was thinking the same, but how would you go about movement around the map?
Go in multiplayer, attach a crown to your ragdoll, declare yourself the king of the server, and have your subjects carry you around with physguns.
You could use an invisible hoverball to get around..
Bring on the ingame dance competitions/gamemodes...
Bring on the ingame dance competitions/gamemodes...
I think the next step is for the ragdolls to have the player's microphone as a 'voice' which interacts with the simulated environments. That's a big next step though, but it'd be amazing... We need ragdolls of the girls from The Shining
I CAN FINALLY FUCK ALYX
you could like rig up a fleshlight and some VR goggles and it might actually work
you could like rig up a fleshlight and some VR goggles and it might actually work
Wait till the furries and MLP fans hear about this..
So: Will we ever get to see what the bottom of Gordon Freeman's feet look like?
I still have my Kinect My current xbox placement doesn't have a room big enough for the scanners and I just don't have the effort to make my little sport games work But dear lord I will make room for gmod kinect I hope setting up the camera to work with it doesn't require a team of trained scientists modifying all the files and settings I just want to slap in the usb and start swinging bricks around instantly
If your room is to small they make lenses that clip on the kinect for that
also L4D2 mounting needs to come back, it's better to have some broken models (which you don't even have to use) than a ton of broken maps (which you might need to use)
and portal 2. i'd like my maps to not be broken
I can imagine those countless Half-Life 2 roleplay servers and things like Taco 'n' Banana are going to become very popular soon. Most of them already have certain things installed for this.
I think I'm starting to like Shack News. They're the first journalists to call kinect a 'disease'.
Who the hell refers to Garry as Newman?
The one Newman...
maybe people will start to get some extent of exercise now.
If your room is to small they make lenses that clip on the kinect for that
My bed is just too close to my desk for my to stand around and do stuff, like if I fall back in my chair I just go into the bed But I will make room for online dance competitions and virtual fapping, maybe now I can finally kick kliener in the nuts First person boxing sounds fun too
What would be pretty (incredibly) useful would be being able to say "pose" or some similar command, and the ragdoll you are in control of would automatically have all of its parts frozen, allowing for quick population of background characters in screenshots, et cetera.
Y'know what I'd love to see? Kinect + GTA IV NPCs It'd make the greatest stress relief game
Y'know what I'd love to see? Kinect + GTA IV NPCs It'd make the greatest stress relief game
GTA IV's car deformation and the swinging cinderblock Also great stress relief
GTA IV's car deformation and the swinging cinderblock Also great stress relief
Or just walking up and slapping people as they walk near a flight of stairs The more I think, the more I want this
Propkilling and Kinect. The possibilities are endless.
GTA IV's car deformation and the swinging cinderblock Also great stress relief
Driving down the street swinging a cinderblock out of your car window from a 5 foot rope.
RAGDOLL FIGHTING GAME
I was thinking the same, but how would you go about movement around the map?
There's a number of ways this could work. For example, I'm assuming if you want that level of immersion you're probably going to be using something with the kinect in order to get hand information, like a wiimote or data glove. In that case, you could set it up to use a partial animation system (something like ragmorph) and have buttons on whatever you're using act as movement keys.
