So glad to hear so many others adore FFIX. Tantalus was the shit. Blank, Marcus, Cinna, Baku, Zenero and Benero. Hell every single character in that damn game is memorable and fantastic in their own right. As it happens I'm replaying it right now, almost on my way to Disc 4. Almost got all of Vivi's spells, I'm like 4 off I think. Also this playthrough I realized what a truly strong character Quina can be. Grand Dragon farming when you first get the Blue Narciss is great. I've not yet played FFVIII, but I bought VII, VIII and IX on PSN. Not sure which one I'll play after IX, probably VII. I've never actually completed it. Truth be told I've not completed any FF game, and the plot of IX was a bit hard for me to follow when I played it as a little kid, so this new playthrough will be good for me. Also, Black Mage Village and Crossing Those Hills will forever be the best tracks.
Ff9 is rich in amazing soundtracks . Off the top of my head, the main title theme, Oeilvert if I'm not mistaken which is a remix? of the main theme, and Memoria's. Also, the themes for the 2 last bosses. its one of those games that I'd never expect to consider to be this great.
Since there's so many FF fans in this thread, please play Lost Odyssey for the xbox 360. Sakaguchi + Uematsu = best RPGs
After so much FF9 hate from several of my friends it's great to see there are a bunch of people here that enjoy it. FF7 and FF9 are about tied for my favorite 3D game while 4 is my favorite 2D title. I really hope FF9 gets a god damn PC release at some point, I would love to play it again without going off and buying a Playstation. :v:
I love FFVIII. The seventh one didn't feel as real as that one did to me. The cutscenes and the music really helped the game.
If they ever made an HD FF9 they'd better leave the music alone.
FF8 is ridiculously easy to level characters up to 99. In fact whilst collecting most of the cards and stock piling spells to keep you extra busy, you can still do it in a whole day without leaving Balamb. Oh, FF12 is best game.

Sucks for the people who never played it before or can't have the original though :/ [editline]20th May 2013[/editline]
Oh, FF12 is best game.
Feels like an MMO on a console. Which is great. It's really cool and refreshing. [editline]20th May 2013[/editline] By the way, anyone knows of an FF9 ultimate guide that covers EVERYTHING? Like, everything to get 110% game competion? Like, "now do this, don't forget that, and that, and while you're at it, stop now what you're doing and go do that side quest, and that side shit, so you can get something really cool". The game is FILLED with side stuff you can do to get the most powerful weapons and gear and so on, and it sends my brain in a tornado when I go through something and forget something that was REALLY important.

If I were dramatic enough about anything in life, I'd be a hopeless alcoholic for missing the Octagon rod and not being able to buy it anywhere else on the 4th disc! :v: I'm sure there is a guide somewhere that covers almost everything I should stop to do before progressing in the storyline. Not a complete guide, but near completion. There has to be... Just hope it isn't a living breathing japanese guy instead of a file on the web...

I kinda wanna try to kill Ozma but at the same time I don't. Sucks that there's no NG+ in Final Fantasy.
I'm not sure it's possible to get truly 100% in a single playthrough purely because of Excalibur II.
Oh, yeah... Oh well, I'll stick for those that don't require me to rush the game, especially because I hate rushing games. I'd at least want to get the Ultima Weapon, Dragon's Hair, the Pumice for Ark, and all the magic and abilities and most of all equipment for everyone. I do love the passive abilities a lot. Auto-regen pretty much made me invincible. Ipsen's castle! Another remix of the main menu theme!

FF8 is so full of boring bullshit it's not even funny.
