Apple computers are the perfect platform for really dumb people.
Not saying that all users are dumb.
Again, another mac who are illiterates on how to use computers, for some. And want everything done for them, and even calming mac are virus free. :v:

A lot of software asks you to do that.
They only reason macs didn't have viruses was because no one gave a fuck.
No, the only reason Macs didn't get viruses(they did, just not widely) was because up until about 5 years ago Mac was still a niche market, having something like 2% of the overall market share.
A bigger market share equates to more exposure, which in turn equates to more criminals trying to fuck it up for everyone. Apple's act of pretending there isn't a problem is only going to make it much, much worse.

That's basically what he said, no one gave a fuck about mac's because no one had them.
Few bits of information: This is homosexual pornography that appears on the users screen, so yeah people will want to get rid of it quickly, especially since the average Mac is a family computer that children have access too.
It actually tricks the user into thinking it's a software update (Which does pop up automatically every two weeks) that says MacDefender is available - users click download and then they install it because they're tricked into thinking it's legitimate and thus that's why they enter their password. I dare say that if you weren't familiar with OSX, you'd get tricked into thinking it was real too because the "software update" looks so genuine.
It doesn't appear to be malicious per se, but it's there to just trick users into giving their credit card details when they go to remove the "viruses" that have been found.
Many people call up Apple in regards to this and although the above posted internal article is legitimate, advisors from Apple will still point the customer in the right direction, or give basic instructions for removal (Which is simply: Remove a single startup item (Six clicks), restart the computer and trash the app from the Applications folder) but the reason they don't confirm or deny malware is because it's unknown if it's truly malicious or not - the reason they don't assist with removal is because it would set an expectation to the community that Apple will help you remove /any/ piece of potentially malicious software you might have now or in the future.
Pain in the ass really, Apple has had a considerable amount of calls in regards to this.
Owne.
I wouldn't hate Macs so much if every single one of their customers weren't complete and total fucking idiots that have no idea what they're talking about.
Every time I bring something up about a computer a mac user who is not even a part of the conversation just has to show up and thrown in "MACS ARE BETTER BLAH BLAH BLAH BULLSHIT RANT"
That's great. I can do all that and more on my PC, now stop trying to make a fucking argument every time I bring up something about a computer program. You like Macs? Wonderful, now shut the fuck up about it and go away. Arrogant fucks.
So what I'm trying to say is, good, from my personal experiences most Mac users deserve this.
The stupidity goes both ways, though it prefers mac, I have seen some retarded PC users before.
