You can murder a bunch of people in a place where there are a fuckload of racist people that worship the founding fathers as gods. But Baptisms that's going way too far

Oh man I'm gonna have to be a Christian after playing this game, I just got baptized against my will. What will I ever do.
Religion is a joke.
That's a bit insensitive and ignorant thing to say, when its a very personal thing for people.
I wonder if he knew that the gameplay mechanics revolved almost entirely around shooting people and if he was totally cool with that
I wonder if he knew that the gameplay mechanics revolved almost entirely around shooting people and if he was totally cool with that
Jesus christ how do you people not understand the concept of "people are offended by different things?"
Oh man I'm gonna have to be a Christian after playing this game, I just got baptized against my will. What will I ever do.
That's actually the exact opposite of what the complaint was, at least the main one people keep bringing up and the only I've seen thus far.
As baptism of the Holy spirit is at the center of Christianity--of which I am a devout believer--I am basically being forced to make a choice between committing extreme blasphemy by my actions in choosing to accept this 'choice' or forced to quit playing the game before it even really starts,
Would I get a refund for watching a movie that is religious? No, so why should stupid get it for games? Valve, there are enough people behind you to make the right call.
Would I get a refund for watching a movie that is religious? No, so why should stupid get it for games?
Would I get a refund for watching a movie that is religious? No, so why should stupid get it for games?
Games are interactive, movies aren't?
That's actually the exact opposite of what the complaint was, at least the main one people keep bringing up and the only I've seen thus far.
Wait, so he was worried he would be going against Christianity by being baptized in a game?
basically my viewpoint on this: you're controlling a character in a story. the character in the story gets baptised. not you. therefore there is no reason to be offended. there's literally no reason to continue the logic any further because that's all is needed to rationalize this. note: it's not the same as being offended because the character you're playing is being forced to kill/mutilate people as that's offensive IMAGERY and I can understand people being offended by that
but, it is for the sake of the plot

Plenty of other people have made use of this - why can't he? because you think it's no big deal?
It's going to be that big of a deal isn't it?
Oh shut the fuck up. Daft ass zealots. fucking useless people.
i like how this guy wasn't even being a dick about or anything, simply wanted a refund and professionally stated his reason, and all the losers on here are mad lol
UGH, how butthurt can religious people get?
Religious freaks are as bad as feminists, if not worse.
I get that it makes him feel uncomfortable, and everyone is entitled to opinion, but if you strictly stay within your comfort zone when picking out stories, you're missing out on a ton of great media no matter who you are. I've read books and seen movies that hit way too close to home, but in most cases they were engaging enough to push me forward. Maybe throwing a baptism at you before you have time to learn about the main character and separate yourself from him is a bad move, pacing-wise, but not everyone's perfect, not even Levine. Especially Levine...
i like how this guy wasn't even being a dick about or anything, simply wanted a refund and professionally stated his reason, and all the losers on here are mad lol
Okay, I have very little problem with someone who didn't play a game but for a few minutes getting a refund because they never planned/felt like they couldn't play the game. The problem I have is the writers of these games will in the long run hinder the story in future games with this in mind. Also the piss ants who use this as an excuse to copy cat for reason other than his. I stand by my original argument, but should have stated that I disagreed with people getting refunds for buying things they didn't enjoy.
.
I like to think he beat the game before asking for a refund, and doesn't actually care about the religious content at all, just wanting his $60 back so he could get away with basically playing the game for free. Unless Valve has a way of seeing through that.
Religion is a joke.
You are a joke, and whoever agrees with you is a joke too. Religion isn't bad, it's a personal issue. I believe in Jesus, so what. He isn't a joke to me
The use of Mann Co. Supply Crate Keys is gambling, and gambling is against my religion. Can I be refunded for all of those? I didn't know those were a part of the game when I started. :( Also, I don't like the way the Soldier uses God's name in vain. Can I be refunded for all my soldier items? Can you remove him from the game, too?
Harden up.
I may sound dense here but can someone explain this to me? If he's a christian and the game has you get baptised, which is a part of Christianity, then what exactly is the problem here? He calls it a 'blasphemy'? I don't get it. I'm not religious in the slightest so perhaps I'm missing some context here.
The whole scene he is talking about is a part of the storyline, not just a random event.
Jesus christ how do you people not understand the concept of "people are offended by different things?"
someone that is offended by a character in a video game getting baptized, which has nothing to do with the player, but is not equally or even more offended by the killing of people in a video game is a fucking idiot

I'm not saying Infinite treats it with disrespect but I can see his perspective.
